@Messinadress1 Coming from a family full of teachers one is dumber than the next. They literally had the worst SAT scores out of all of us and all they do is complain.

Another hidden cost in California: geotech engineers We have 800 sqft units on our San Diego project and our geotech engineer wouldn’t sign off on the footings until we went almost 5 feet deep For comparison, that is about what I’d expect for a 3-4 story apartment bldg

@SinaiLawFirm Ip.litigator in BigLaw. Partner, who was an asshole, brought us in to huge tech company lawsuit in DDel. Client turns to him during opening and said how many times have you done this. "Oh this is my first" we were fired by lunch time.

@callmeMEJE The directors cut. The best version of this movie. Adds about 45 minutes and tons of depth and character development

Ridley Scott spent $110 million on this. A Muslim general is the hero. The Christians are the villains. Cambridge called it 'Osama bin Laden's version of history.' Edward Norton wore a mask the whole movie. Refused a credit. Still the best performance. Kingdom of Heaven. 2005.

@rdd147 Not poor but Farmers markets sell it every week for as long as I can remember. The Amish call it meatloaf mix, also good to make meatballs with it. I dunno, beef is expensive but this stuff has been around forever.

And, for what it's worth, the tax is extremely modest. Ideally, it would apply to almost all empty pied-à-terres with the policy objective of pushing absentee owners to either sell their properties or find long-term tenants.

Mamdani's pied-à-terre tax is not targeting New Yorkers. A Russian or Chinese millionaire who owns an empty $5 million apartment doesn't live in the city. If they decided to actually become New Yorkers and live in their property, they wouldn't have to pay the tax!

@FatherChrisVor1 All of a sudden, after hundreds of years, they need a separate room? I think you are naive, willfully or not. They are staking a claim in the Vatican.

I can’t imagine why this has to be answered again, but here goes. Because there are Islamic scholars who professionally use the library. Muslims pray five times a day on a very strict schedule. They do not just pray sitting down quietly. They have physical gestures to do and words that need to be spoken out loud. The scholars asked if there would be a room that they could go to where they could privately do their thing without interrupting any of the other library patrons. The Vatican said yes, and provided them with a small space.

@FatherChrisVor1 And why did he put a muslim prayer room in the vatican?

Thousands of ultra-luxury apartments in NYC have wealthy owners who pay zero in local income taxes because they don’t claim residency here. It’s only fair that these owners contribute to the cost of city services. This is a sensible proposal from Gov. Hochul.

Americans… this is a good faith question. I’m not baiting or trolling. Why are you so scared of condos and walkable cities? Does not having to drive for your groceries freak you out? What about it makes you uncomfortable? Please be honest.

No we’re just trying to get you to accept how insignificant and small your country is. It’s a tiny island 1/5th the size of Texas. Europeans think they’re well traveled because they travel to other countries that are literally next door. The distance you travel to go from London to Germany only gets me from the middle of Texas into Louisiana next door. If you add up the entire European Union’s land area, it only equates to about 1/2 of the lower 48 states. Lots of tiny, small countries. No wonder Hitler thought he could tak over the whole place, there’s no much to it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A hilarious story that has developed at @TheMasters are 🎟️ resellers with extra daily access on a 4 day badge. They are not only sacred to sell to the public but also sacred to sell to other resellers. In this day and time you can’t trust anyone a source told me this morning. “I’m way more worried about another reseller saying a good badge was taken by the Augusta National than a patron.”
