I’m excited to announce a partnership with @Uber. As part of this, Uber plans to invest up to $1.25 billion in Rivian and deploy up to 50,000 R2 robotaxis. This partnership accelerates our path to Level 4 autonomy and supports our goal of building one of the safest autonomous platforms in the world—across both shared and personally owned vehicles. The combination of Rivian’s rapidly growing data flywheel, our in-house RAP1 inference platform (800 TOPS), and our multi-modal perception stack provides a powerful foundation to scale autonomy quickly and responsibly over the next couple of years.

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier.
Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

@JCChristopher now do it with AP and now do it going 60mph up to that curve. Report back if you can prevent a crash 2s before hitting the curve :)

I just retraced the exact same path on 69 Eastex Freeway going northbound on the HOV lane and taking the Eastex Park & Ride exit, and Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5 handled its perfectly. It was the exact same setup on the exit as in the Fox News video. FSD slowed down with no vehicles directly in front as we entered the pylon area, and made a buttery smooth right turn.

@SawyerMerritt @Tesla Maybe the car can read speed limit signs in the next update instead of doing 57 in what the car thought was a 55 when it was a 75. Or slowing down without slamming on the brakes when the speed limit drops and it decides to wait till it crosses the sign to slow down.

NEWS: Morgan Stanley says they’re more optimistic about @Tesla’s progress toward an unsupervised robotaxi rollout after a recent visit to Giga Texas, particularly its progress in addressing edge cases around pickup and drop-off.
The firm views Tesla's ability to scale the unsupervised robotaxi fleet as the most important catalyst for the stock this year: "Each incremental mile driven by the robotaxi fleet accelerates learning for personal FSD, which supports higher FSD attach rates and reaccelerates auto demand, improving free cash flow generation."
Morgan Stanley believes a successful robotaxi rollout has the potential to create a flywheel across Tesla's ecosystem: "Incremental unsupervised robotaxi miles driven improve the underlying autonomy model, which accelerates the path to personal unsupervised FSD."
The firm reiterated an Equalweight rating and $415 price target for $TSLA.

@PorterTravis08 That’s the thing— her lawyers know and admit that she had disengaged ADAS before the crash, but then claim Tesla’s design of the Cybertruck, made the crash unavoidable. That’s going to be an extremely difficult claim for them to prove in court, when their client wasn’t braking.

@elonmusk @wholemars @WR4NYGov So in the video Fox posted yesterday (watermarked by the law firm) the crash happened at ~4 seconds. So basically the entire video FSD was disabled and they were the ones crashing.
