Both @StaniKulechov and @PaulFrambot are right, and they’re both describing why we built Blend. Institutions don’t want to choose between Aave governance or Morpho’s vault model. They want to allocate across both, set their own risk limits, and let users own their own accounts. Not pick a side. Just control.

Absolutely. At Blend we think this should be the baseline, not a nice-to-have. We built around exactly this: 1) circuit breakers: partners can pause deposits, withdrawals, or specific strategy flows when needed, 2) timelocks: changes don’t just go live instantly, there’s controlled review before execution, and 3) emergency controls: there’s immediate shutdown capability for critical situations. A little less “smooth UX,” a lot more peace of mind. That tradeoff is always worth it.

Every Defi protocol should have: 1. Circuit breakers for deposit and withdrawals, and possibly other internal operations as well 2. Timelocks for any change 3. Security councils that can shut down protocols immediately We don't need insurance, we need to do start doing the ffcking basics correctly. It's too early for this space to drive without any training wheels. I beg you, sacrifice a tiny bit of UX to gain a lot of peace of mind. The worst possible UX is losing your user's money.
