@JohnnyMagic23 1) this is almost entirely subjective haha 2) I think it’s pretty dang close and do think some of your biases are coming out but mostly on the margins.

Carter > Sengun Banchero > Green Wagner > Smith Fultz > Porter Jr. Suggs = Eason Black = Thompson Howard = Whitmore Don’t even need to include Cole to see how bad of a take this is. This is not even subjective or being a homer either. I’m open for debate.

This time last year, if you were to ask me to rank Houston’s young core, I would’ve told you we were like 4th or 5th. Today, I genuinely believe we rank 2nd, only behind OKC thanks to the SGA tax. Taking the core of Jalen-Sengun-Jabari-Tari-KPJ-Amen-Cam over every other core.

How many YOUNG guards look good (or really good) at SL, especially their first 2 games?? Serious question. Can y’all remember some frosh/soph guards, 20 yrs or younger, who actually looked darn good right off the bat??

If I’m a non-Heat team in the Dame race, especially small market. I’m playing chicken with Dame between playing for us, or retiring and foregoing hundreds of millions of $

Bilal Couliably was playing during the Combine, so he conducted and sent NBA teams his own Combine results before departing for workouts in the US. He measured 6'8 in shoes, 194 pounds with a 7'2 wingspan, 8'11 standing reach and big hands. How high does he get picked Thursday?

@HawksDraftNerd He’s a fine defender, but not impactful IMO. I think Tobias Harris type guy is probably Emmy expected outcome

Brandon Miller was widely considered a good defender during the season but now that the season is over I keep seeing people talk down on it…

@DraftExpress @JeremyWoo Drafting for fit results in a greater team morale, which affects winning, while also putting the player in the best position to succeed. I don’t know why teams wouldn’t draft that way. Eventually, you need discipline towards establishing an identity if you want to win.

2023 NBA mock draft: Best fit vs. best available Should teams look to fill a present need to win a game tonight, or draft the best long-term prospect? @JeremyWoo and I explore both paths to see who teams might consider on draft night espn.com/nba/insider/in…

DeMarcus Cousins recorded three 40-20 games during the 2017-18 season, tying Moses Malone for (what is still) the most such games in a single season in post-merger NBA history. And what makes it even crazier is that he played just 48 games that season before rupturing his achilles in late January. He also averaged 5.4 APG that year, becoming, at the time, just the seventh center in NBA history to reach that mark. And he was posting those numbers while playing alongside a superstar big who was putting up 28 and 11. Prime Boogie was such a special talent.

@deanondraft I don’t think it’s outrageous. If I’ve learned anything from the draft it’s that there are no certainties.

@ctac54 So you value him above consensus like many other people That’s fine, but it’s your personal take. It shouldn’t be outrageous for others to suggest he may perform in line or slightly worse than consensus implies

It's amusing how sensitive people are to the notion that Scoot may not be special. Out of 93 players picked #2 thru #4 from 1985 to 2015, here are median outcomes in terms of career win shares. It's a mundane group: Why is it so hard to accept that Scoot may be mundane too?

@deanondraft 1) I think BMill is fine, but not same tier as Scoot for me personally. 2) I would’ve had Scoot at 1 in 2017 above Ball, Tatum, and Fultz (my rankings not consensus)

@ctac54 Woj and Givony have been saying most teams rate him below Brandon Miller for months. Miller is good but not special. If this was 2017 who knows how far he slides. Does he really go ahead of Fox and Isaac at 5/6? It’s hard to say
