@martyrmade This is about 700 feet from my house. Lots of tourists go to Lex or Concord, and that's great but it's the town of Arlington - in between Boston and Lexington - where the bulk of the fighting happened. Lots of monuments like this around her.

And as a final note, it remains really bizarre that my public-facing history project is actually my 'main' job and my full time (adjunct) teaching position is a thing I do on the side, income-wise. That is wacky. I know of no one else in that position, though others must exist?

We're apparently now doing academic salary discourse. The highest I've been paid single year is 43k, with a full teaching load as a fixed-term/adjunct, which is high for an adjunct but lower than every recent TT salary I've seen quoted.

I say this with a heavy heart, My father passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is a legend in the art world and it would be my honor to follow in his footsteps. Please keep your thoughts and condolences here out of respect for my family. He was the greatest man I ever met.

A sad, sad day for those of us who grew up adoring and obsessing over Marvel comics. The great John Romita Sr has died. A wonderful artist and a truly beautiful, kind, generous, compassionate and thoughtful man. He was the rock that provided a gloriously rendered foundation to Marvel in those years when it grew and prospered and became the powerhouse of ideas it is today. Thank you John for sharing your magnificent genius
