Many people never end up getting into the arts, because they are thinking about (already judging the quality of) the 'work' they would 'produce.' It's a symptom of a culture of education wherein we are graded on everything and ranked based on output.

We are so laser-focused on producing results in our culture - everything is held up to the standard of 'what results does it produce?' This is fairly antithetical to the practice of art, wherein we ask 'Can I really enjoy this experience for what it is, as an end in itself?'

@RomeoStevens76 Dan Brown always translated dukkha as 'reactivity', and he was very intentional with his language, maybe moreso than anyone else I've met in the field

best I can do is 'momentary phenomena are tautologically without the possibility of lasting satisfaction' which...you can tell why other translations memetically win out.

i'm so into this music theory site, it's such a good idea. theory tab. you can see the chord names and qualities (and the melody/harmony interactions) of a bunch of songs and understand them
i would've built this if i'd thought of it (but i don't know how they did it so well)

allows you to access grooves and rhythmic patterns which you would never access if you just played what came to you intuitively. I've been truly blessed to learn a little from some of the greatest maestros alive currently and buddy, I'm enjoying the hell out of the game.

I've been playing tabla for a decade and a half and it continues to be the most enjoyable solo music practice I've ever engaged in. Tabla solo music has a vast repertoire of compositions, each a type of poetry with grammar and rules. They also groove hard as hell.
