Authoritarians silence debate, leaders encourage it. Policy is what matters. Politicians are not our betters. None are heroes. None deserve worship.

@MikeNellis Obama effectively stole public park land from Chicago’s South Side residents. He got a sweetheart deal of just $10, yes $10, for a 99 year “lease”. To put that in perspective, $10 is about 15 minutes in a Chicago parking garage.

NEW: Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean says Graham Platner "has disqualified himself" from Maine Senate race. "It's so distressing -- All of the stories that are coming out, and there are more and more, it seems, by the hour."

Speaker Welch - Get Your Facts Straight - Indiana will pay their portion of investment in the stadium by taxes collected on ticket, food, and merchandise sales at the site of the Bears stadium. There's no extra taxes on IN residents. They have done this for 40 years with their other stadium deals. Meanwhile, your party, that's been in charge in Chicago for almost 100 years, still hasn't paid their portion of the Bears stadium improvements. You're terrible at managing money- admit it now.
Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch@SpeakerWelchIL

While Indiana is willing to raise taxes and promise $1 billion in taxpayer funds, Illinois has focused on the needs of working families who want relief at the gas pump, at the store, and on their insurance bills-not taxpayer-funded stadiums. Illinois remains open to ongoing efforts to secure the Bears in Illinois.

@anjewla90 Adjusted for inflation, the home we bought in suburban Cook 2003 is still a real $60K loss, today. Adjusted for inflation, the home we bought in suburban Nashville in 2022 is up a real $30K. Owning a home in Illinois is purely an expense.

Mark my words, my next home will not be in the state of Illinois. I am not sure when that time will be. But I will never look for another home in this hellhole of a state.

There’s privilege to going outside now? Something tells me this person is a drain on society & wouldn’t have an original thought if her life depended on it. Also, ICE only arresting 11 ppl is very disappointing, those numbers need to be a lot higher.

When a friend went to fill her tank in Illinois on 5/31/26 gas was MORE than $ 5.00 per gallon in fact it was $ 5.799 per gallon And when she finished filling up in Valparaiso, Indiana with the same grade of gas on the same day the price was $ 3.899 per gallon Trump is the President of the United States and as far as I knew that also includes Indiana It’s amazing how his policies only negatively affect Illinois but not Indiana So by the reasonable use of logic it becomes obvious that the high gas prices in Illinois are not because of Trump, they’re because of YOU and your posse of Democrats in Springfield Don’t you ever get tired of blaming Trump for the problems that YOU not him have caused? Pritzker you are literally an IDIOT

@MaryAnnAhernNBC Chris Welch cares so much about working families, he and all Illinois Dems constantly raise taxes and fees, picking everyone’s pockets all day, every day. Eventually people just leave.

@redsteeze @BecketAdams Why is Graham Platner so popular in Maine then? Do you believe he’s actually a Nazi? If so, then Maine clearly has a HUGE Nazi problem. What do you attribute that to?

IL Lawmakers don't view this as a done deal: Illinois Senate President Don Harmon: “The Chicago Bears have been saying for some time now that Hammond, Indiana is their main focus. Today’s statement isn’t fundamentally different than what the team said in February after Indiana voted to give the Chicago Bears more than a billion dollars in taxpayer money if they move to Indiana. But that didn’t stop their conversations about a future here in Illinois, and it doesn’t appear that today’s statement will either. We are ready and willing to re-engage with the Chicago Bears when they realize Illinois will always be the best place for them.”

fun fact: in New York City, emergency vehicles literally use the bike lanes to get out of gridlock. Well-protected bike lanes can serve as an emergency lane that actually reduces response times. don’t believe me? here’s proof from last week
Goofies Of Chicago@Chicago_Goofies

Serious question: What happens when an ambulance or fire truck can’t get through because the street has been narrowed down to a single lane for bike infrastructure? Look at this mess. Who thought this was a good idea?

If you think birthing a typically-developed child means you'll have an easy parenting journey, I've got a beachhouse in Arizona to sell you. I've seen plenty of "normal" kids wreck their parents mentally, emotionally, physically and financially while never achieving stable adult lives. Special needs kids aren't the problem - the problem is this insane idea that you're owned a life that's always Instagram-perfect and wonderful.
