Politico: President Trump has offered Fetterman his patented total and complete endorsement plus a financial windfall to the Pennsylvanian if he becomes a Republican. A handful of Senate Republicans are also gently feeling out Fetterman and responding to his concerns over the prospect of defecting from the Democratic Party. If Fetterman does flip, according to officials who were given anonymity to talk about sensitive matters, it will be thanks in large part to his deepening friendship with a pair of senators and their high-profile spouses: Sen. Dave McCormick (R-PA), and his wife Dina, and Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL), and her husband, Wesley.

NY-12, which includes both the Upper West and Upper East Sides, is the smallest and most population-dense congressional district in the country, one that candidates can crisscross several times over in an afternoon. It is among the wealthiest and oldest districts in the United States and is also the district with the most college graduates. If you listen to the candidates, the battle for NY-12 is not just about who will be the next member of the city’s congressional delegation but a contest among factions of the island’s Democratic base: the old-money elite, the anti-Trump resisters, the tech-world crusaders, and the old-school party Establishment. ICE is not a rogue agency. They are operating well within their jurisdiction, which, perhaps to the surprise of dolts like Valdez, includes New York City. Deploying resources to protect those agents from attacks and to restore order in the communities agitators have descended upon to sow chaos in “protest” is squarely within the remit of the NYPD, which does not deny protection to those the aforementioned dolts find undeserving of such protection. The NYPD has no more “collaborated” with ICE by arresting rioters than they have “collaborated” with the Bloods by enforcing the law against Crips. Hope that clears things up.
