Open champ Diaries (Mon) -Went to the course for breakfast and checked in. Got our yardage book covers which is always nice and a couple player gifts. -Player dining set up is really good. Wide variety, good coffee, even an ice cream stand haha. I appreciate some of the Asian cuisines that they add into the menu and not just the standard western cuisine.

Back nine: -I played the back nine today once the rain stopped. -Overall… it’s a really tough course with the south wind we got today. A lot of the trouble is towards that south side. There’s not a whole lot of playability from the rough here unless you get pretty lucky especially 10-15. Lots of flowers, shrubs, and junk in the rough here unlike last week. -Fairways are very narrow and greens also play very narrow. -The front right pin on 12 deserves its own spot haha. It’s a par 5 but might play over par with that pin and wind off the right. If you miss it short right it’s most likely in a creek. Long right and a super hard up and down. Miss it left and you can EASILY chip it into the water from there. It’s an easy hole with wind off the right but off the left, very tricky. -16 very cool hole. Calamity corner. 235 into a stiff breeze, a super awkward number for most. Can’t get 7wd with hurt breeze so had to smooth a 3wd which is much harder when then wind is from 10:30 and the trouble being right. (Tendency is to miss right when swinging soft for me) -18 very cool just with the stadium atmosphere they always create.
