I know I’ve turned to a colleague in the press box before and asked, “Damn, that was rough, what would you ask?”
Second opinions and perspectives are always helpful in any industry, regardless of experience or expertise. The execution is the key.
AI didn’t *execute* the postgame interview, just like AI wouldn’t be the one hitting a HR even if Cal Raleigh was seen asking Claude for hitting advice.
I just know @AngieMentink is always incredibly prepared and seeks excellence in everything she does. And interviewing anyone after a devastating loss is often the hardest part.
This isn’t a case of being “caught,” it’s a case of mind your own business and let people do their job to the best of their ability.

Another season, another helping of defending Angie and making it seem like she’s invincible to criticism.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. Nobody is calling into question her knowledge of baseball, and it continues to be weird how people interpret criticism of her as such.
The criticism stems from the flow of the broadcast, comments made to meet the moment, etc. A few examples:
1. With the Mariners losing by one run against the Rangers on 4/6, Josh Naylor threw a ball into LF which turned an inning-ending DP to men on 1st and 3rd with one out. Angie’s contribution was suggesting that Naylor was probably “smiling” because the runner got in his way of the throw.
2. Countless examples of overanalyzing aspects of the game to where the analysis bleeds into the next pitch, which simply doesn’t allow Goldsmith to call the action because she can’t succinctly provide analysis in the allotted timeframe.
There are others of course, but those are two prominent examples.
You know what ISN’T a criticism? Her gender. And it’s beyond tiring the lengths weirdos like Jim Moore will go to paint the narrative that anyone who criticizes her is somehow a misogynist freak.
In fact, I would bet LOTS of money that the people who regularly criticize her (like myself) would say that they love Angie on the pre and postgame shows. She’s better suited for that. And there’s nothing wrong with that!
It’s our opinion. Stop demonizing us for vocalizing it. It’s just fucking weird.

@RebelGrizzAli @wisdomandboats The shipping industry is the largest consumer of heavy crude oil.
The Middle East is light set crude oil.
English

@wisdomandboats Great post - what will it take to ensure that this demand stays permanent, thus causing more investment in refining infrastructure? Have we already reached that point? I worry that the Middle East will just undercut us and sell at a loss once we get going?
English

Long term, the increase production in Venezuela is going to create a lot of demand for Aframaxes in the US Gulf & Caribbean
USG crude oil exports are increasing and as Venezuelan production ramps up, USG refiners are likely to increase runs with heavy sour Venezuelan oil increasing Carib/USG demand for Aframaxes.
However, Venezuelan ultra-heavy oil has an API of 8-14 and refineries usually need an API of 16 for the refining process or else it’s too viscous.
So the oil has to be diluted with naphtha roughly at a 30/70 ratio to allow for the oil to be processed and transported.
For Aframaxes this is great because this naphtha can be used as a backhaul cargo, and because the naphtha is used as a diluent shipowners don’t have to clean their tanks to transport the naphtha to Venezuela.
So for every 3 Aframax voyages from Venezuela to the USG, an extra backhaul cargo of naphtha will be needed.
This creates a lot of fundamental demand for Aframaxes in the Caribbean/USG which is very lucrative for shipowners.
If exports to the USG increase to ≈500k bpd that’ll increase aframax demand by roughly 22 vessels. Meaning that an extra 22 Aframax vessels will be needed in the Caribbean/USG consistently to meet this demand, which creates a fundamental strengthening in rates for aframaxes in the USG/Caribbean for the long term. #oott #tankers

@Spacedogonmoon @LeadingReport You still have to use a third party and you are capped on your income to file for free.
So no, it's not a thing.

@AlScott1998 @DevineGospel That's not what he's asking. They just played each other last week.
English

@DevineGospel 22 of the 30 teams in baseball have designated inter league rivals (e.g. Padres/Mariners)
The other 8 teams are in two groups of 4 (Astros/Rangers/D’backs/Rockies) and (Phillies/Braves/Red Sox/Blue Jays) that alternate their “rivals” based on odd/even years.
English

This might sound extremely dumb
Why are the Rockies playing the Astros again?

It’s weird. During Tariff tantrum, Trump actually did control reality and could TACO so to speak.
Now he does not. Yet the market behaved exactly as if this was April 9 last year.
