Earlier this month, I defended my PhD in front of friends and family. I’ve dreamed of this moment forever and I’m glad it came true. Thanks to my mentors, Drs. Paulson and Sharkey, and my committee! I will be starting a postdoctoral position in Dr. Roy Parker’s lab at CU Boulder.

Proteins are still pretty hard to measure. Traditional approaches (e.g., phage, yeast, ribosome display) rely on DNA barcodes + NGS, but face throughput constraints + quirks. Infinity Bio has created a "self-assembling" DNA-barcoded libraries. The goal: screen drugs against all known allergens, human viruses & human proteins

@hariharmm Thanks Hari! Ruth Lehmann and Martine Simonelig's have similar observations in germ granules in Drosophila. Aside from some work in neurons and during sperm development we didn't really know a whole lot about vertebrate systems.

Our preprint uncovering how endogenous retrovirus-like proteins reshape fundamental stress granule features is now online! So many awesome discoveries, the coolest being virus-like particles within stress granules! Cryo-CLEM work was led by Martin from @s_mosalaganti lab 1/8
