NFTs are coming back. I’d prefer we don’t call them this but that will take time to learn new language around what we produce and collect here. However, I can tell you from my DMs the past week that meme coin meta is over. New ideas are emerging. People want to be creative again. NFTs are coming back.

I like it, let's do it @elonmusk

I wish we could set a $ amount that people could pay you to send you a DM

@opensea @sergitosergito Still no TG Gifts (TON NFTs) which regularly do more volume than all other chains’ NFTs?
English

@thepropgallery Telegram’s NFTs on ton outperform literally every nft on eth lol

No NFTs will exist long term outside of Ethereum
wale.moca 🐳@waleswoosh
There is not a single Solana NFT collection with a floor price above $2k USD. Read that again. There are like five collections above $100 USD. No volume. Claynosaurz should bridge asap, and Solana Monkey Business should rebrand to Ethereum Monkey Business. Solana NFTs are one Magic Eden de-listing away from becoming Ordinals

@nikitabier @levelsio Report undisclosed promotion would be cool too
English

@levelsio Way ahead of you. It’s already in the dislike button (Available for US iPhone Premium). Expanding soon.

Maybe a fix for the AI bots here is a [ Report as AI ] button @nikitabier
It would add a human input to the AI bot detection which then an AI could investigate and de-rank the account if there's enough reports
Obviously need to build in failsafes so it's not abused to take down accounts but Community Notes shows you can have an algorithm that makes sure that doesn't happne

@beaniemaxi Fragment.com has never been promoted before yet is a top crypto protocol by revenue.

@waleswoosh NFTs are unfortunately cooked and will remain cooked unless sombody "reinvents" them
Like it or hate it, its the truth

Curious to see what happens to Ordinals from here.
They've been in a continued decline for years, so it’s not surprising that Magic Eden decided to shut it down.
From a business perspective, it makes sense.
Still, this is a real hit for the ecosystem.
Magic Eden was THE platform that made Ordinals accessible and drove the majority of the volume.
Without them, I doubt we would've seen a proper Ordinals run in the first place. They were the only major marketplace that managed to integrate Ordinals in a user-friendly way.
Onboarding thousands of NFT traders in the process.
But maintaining that infrastructure isn’t cheap (same for the countless L1 and L2 EVM chains) and there is no real volume coming in. So this was probably inevitable.
Now the real question is whether Ordinals can survive without their dominant marketplace

@durov I guess France and Russia are more alike than they are different

If I mute a word/phrase, can this also apply to posts that quote something containing the word/phrase? @nikitabier @elonmusk

NFTs are not coming back.
Not the 2021 version.
Not the 10k PFP collections.
Not the instant 100x after mint.
Companies still anchored to the old ways are going to die.
They’ve already started to. Multiple NFT-centric companies have shutdown in recent months. And more will suffer the same fate.
NFTs were built on speculation.
When speculation left, so did the business model.
Marketplaced shut down.
Platforms collapsed.
Tooling dried up.
Volume was gone.
While some NFT platformd pivoted, others stayed complacent.
Instead of rewarding users, building infrastructure, product depth, and growing TAM, some companies’ greatest success is an endless token farm.
Platforms still focused on NFTs have a largely bleak outlook.
Magic Eden saw the same dying volume.
They pivoted.
Beyond NFTs.
Toward entertainment.
Toward engagement.
Toward new TAM.
They built Dicey.
A new brand.
A new direction.
A new revenue stream.
A new industry.
You can argue the category, but you cannot argue the adaptability.
There has never been a better time to take a swing at bat.
NFTs as speculative assets are finished, likely forever.
If you’re still leading with “we are an NFT platform,” you are falling behind in a time where the best of the best have already found new markets.
The only way to survive in this market is to create a new market.
