Hire for the person who will excel in their next role, not the ones they've already held

Finding ways to attribute real value to curiosity and continuous learning instead of data points from a hackable system is a good place to start.

I was lucky enough to be homeschooled (first test I ever took was to prove I was qualified for college) so I've also seen first-hand how institutional criteria and laziness often create a false sense of risk for people who are answering to their own set of hackable tests.

The societal challenge is that investing care and attention in substantive, meaningful evaluation doesn't always have immediate (or direct) returns. But when it does happen, you see durable growth and innovation for people and organizations.
