@Law1Leo It is not juggad. iR/IIR sensors are heavily used on missiles, fighter and short rang surface to air missiles. They cannot be used on long range missiles because of field of view issues. That's where radar comes in.

Such a cheap solution in place of radars which cannot detect the stealth bomber. It evades the radar but generates enough heat to run the humongous things that it glows like a tennis ball in a infrared monitoring system. Solid Jugaad - thinking out of the box.
Global Insight Journal@GlobalIJournal

A retired U.S. Army Colonel, speaking to ABC: “Iran uses infrared systems instead of traditional radar. American fighters like the F-35 and F-15 are not designed to face these systems. Iranian airspace is not safe for U.S. fighter jets.”

@hellfire_81 They will probably have some of the updates, including new EW, Astra 2, mission computers etc. Won't have the crown jewel: new radar. The best way forward is to order 50 to 60 more, use the active production line & apply updates as they come.

@GauravT71548031 @idrwalerts I think the post is referring to the fact that Su30SM was based on Su30MKI, which was funded by us. We got no royalty for our effort. Something similar happened with Barak8. IAI brought out a Israeli version called Barak MX, sold to other countries. No royalty for us!

Another missile dodger award, this is like you seeing accident on the other side of motorway and awarding yourself medal how you avoided that multi-car accident with presence of mind. What a country and military 🫡 PS. No way in hell P-8 can avoid a radar guided missile.

They should be bold and refuse to pay back the loan. We are in a new era where bold action is rewarded and might is the major currency. The UAE has no capacity to retaliate against a default or other threats and is already in a dire situation. It would be tough but realistic.

Persistent rumors of a UAE-Pakistan rift, as Pakistan is told to repay a $3.5 billion debt. The two countries are said to now be arguing over Iran. Islamabad apparently taking a softer stance, and the UAE looking for a forceful military response to Tehran's attacks on it.

@Tejas522096 @somnath1978 It was stupid. If the plan on 10th was to attack airbases and agree on an inevitable US pushed ceasefire, we could have the same on 7th. Throw the kitchen sink( "katal khi raat") at PAF on 7th after the initial strike on JEM/LET. Then call for ceasefire.

@sachavada108 @somnath1978 PAF primary A2G weapons require certain to fire. The S400 bubble prevented the launch. PAF had to improvise, affecting accuracy. Moreover they were trying to chase the S400 with the help of Chinese ISR. PA lost confidence & then started rocket launches.

@somnath1978 The SAM bubble nullified the PL15. PAF only got the chance on 7th, when we were using "lighter" A2G weapon (civilian targets) and had to be closer to the border. We should have hit PAF first, but spilled milk anyways

@somnath1978 Different tactics. Once the first A2G weapons were released on 7th, the SAM took over . JF17 was claimed to be hit on 7th at 200km range by S400. IAF jets were behind the SAM bubble.

@BasuAshis @SushantSin Yes, Trump does love deals, but he couldn't get one through the latest Dalal he hired.. Iran told the Dalal to take a hike. UAE is asking for the money back, as the Dalal won't fight against Iran, despite the "defence agreement".

As Modi remains tethered to the domestic narrative of aspiring to global leadership, he is being bypassed in the real corridors of power. Pakistan has topped India by manufacturing diplomatic relevance despite risks of failure. I write in @ForeignPolicy foreignpolicy.com/2026/04/03/pak…

People in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir should revolt and join India immediately. Why pay 458 Rupees for petrol when the price stays at 96.73 Rupees in Indian Kashmir? If you don't like petrol , consider joining India for the diesel rates, paying 520.35 Rupees feels absurd when the cost is only 84.06 Rupees per litre in Indian Kashmir. GOI will give you 1 Rs INR for Ever PKR you bring and burn , don't worry about exchange rates .

@Defencematrix1 What we don't see if the top level cover provided by F22/F35 etc, sniffing for any emission from SAM. EW aircrafts flooding the area, making comms difficult. Manpads probably pose the biggest risk and that's a calculated risk with MAWS & flares.

@DropSiteNews In theory yes. The issue with IR sensor on a missile is field of view. A ground based IR sensor can see & track as it's FoV is large and is stationary. On a missile it is different story. without datalink, at long range, IR seeker cannot find the target.

A Chinese video by “Laohu Talks World” is going viral online, breaking down how Iran could try to target the F-35 Lightning II using existing equipment by simplifying the problem step by step. The speaker argues that air combat isn’t realistic given Iran’s aging fleet, including decades-old Grumman F-14 Tomcats, and instead focuses on ground-based air defense. He contrasts large systems like the S-300 and Bavar-373 with smaller, mobile systems like the Majid air defense system, arguing that lighter, decentralized setups using infrared tracking could be harder to detect and survive longer. The video is part of a wider phenomenon from China as the Middle East conflict unfolds: civilians are volunteering, without pay, their technical skills on social media to help Iran counter U.S. military power.
