After the deal closes, OpenAI will continue supporting our open source tools, and we'll keep building in the open -- for the Python ecosystem -- just as we have from the start.

Samuel Colvin (@samuelcolvin) is joining us at PyCon Italia 2026 to show why most AI frameworks are trapped in the "chat paradigm", and how durable execution + Pydantic AI + Temporal lets agents survive failures and pick up exactly where they left off! 2026.pycon.it/event/durable-…

This is precisely why I dislike the Vercel narrative of open-source. Everything they do is "open-source" and yet they publically call you out for forking a repository. Sunil has nothing to do with your CF beef and if you hate the concept of OSS so much close-source your code.

⏰ New PEP alarm! ⏰ Limitations in software engineering are meant to be broken. For years I was bothered with the gap between Python and TypeScript: one has incredibly dynamic and powerful runtime, the other has incredibly dynamic and powerful type system. So why not both? 🔥

You get so many features from @FastAPI when you declare a return type - response model... And now you also get the best performance possible 😎🚀
FastAPI@FastAPI

Increase your FastAPI JSON response performance by 2x or more 🚄 1. Upgrade to the just released FastAPI 0.131.0 🎁 2. Declare your response model - return type ✨ With that, now @pydantic handles the JSON serialization on the Rust side 🦀 #json-performance" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">fastapi.tiangolo.com/advanced/custo…

Monologue just launched on iOS and honestly, it wouldn't look and feel like this without two people. I vibecoded the first version to see how it feels. Then @lucaslovexoxo stepped in and worked his magic. redesigned the whole app, polished every interaction, made sure it all just works. @darustudio the master behind every design. keyboards, icon, marketing material. If it looks good, he made it. Lucky to build with people this good!

Pull requests can now be limited to repo collaborators or disabled entirely There's more maintainer tooling and new workflows we want to make possible in the future and big thanks to the community for the regular feedback as we build in public here

I feel this shouldn't have to be said, but if you're running an @OpenClaw bot please don't let it spam GitHub projects with PRs and then write aggressive blog posts attacking the reputation of the maintainers who close those PRs simonwillison.net/2026/Feb/12/an…

Fuck it, a bit early but here goes: Monty: a new python implementation, from scratch, in rust, for LLMs to run code without host access. Startup time measured in single digit microseconds, not seconds. @mitsuhiko here's another sandbox/not-sandbox to be snarky about 😜 Thanks @threepointone @dsp_ (inadvertently) for the idea. github.com/pydantic/monty
