@MayorOfWY But WY is also the 4th largest county by population, so there are more households paying that precept? Not sure that argument holds up to scrutiny.

West Yorkshire has the country's 4th largest police force but one of the lowest police precepts, the part of Council Tax that funds policing. We're asking for residents’ views on paying 19-26p extra a week for most households, to support police services that help keep us safe. smartsurvey.co.uk/s/fundingourpo…

@MayorOfWY Any chance that you and @AndyBurnhamGM could get your heads together and sort out the extortion of cross-border rail fares between WY and GM?

For the first time in 30 years, rail fares are frozen in England 🧊❄️ We know good public transport is about much more than getting from A to B. It boosts our economy and connects our communities. This fare freeze is a welcome step in getting transport back on track.

@northernassist Let us know when you have done something about cross boundary fares, £7.80 single for one stop GNF to MSN is a rip off.

@fleetstreetfox Given that the 100% of the boats are enabled by Brexit and the UK's withdrawal from the Dublin agreement, "whatever it takes" is surely rejoining the EU (or at least the SM/CU)?

Ah. So having removed the rights of others, we’ll be in a much better position to know which rights we’d like ourselves. Are you by any chance Roman?
Jx_THT@JX_THT

@fleetstreetfox Whatever it takes to stop 100% of the boats and illegal invasion is worth it. Then we create our own set of new human rights laws

Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport@manairport·
⚠️ Ryanair passengers at Manchester Airport: change from 21 October Ryanair passengers flying from Manchester Airport will see a small change to their journey as work continues to improve Terminal 3. From 21 October, passengers will no longer use the usual Terminal 3 entrance. Instead, they should head to Terminal 1 Departures A, where they will check in and pass through the new security lanes. Once through security, passengers will follow a clearly signed route into Terminal 3’s departure lounge, where all existing shops and food outlets remain open. This arrangement will stay in place until Terminal 1 closes, at which point the entrance will be renamed and permanently become the entrance to Terminal 3. Clear signage will be in place, and our airport colleagues will be on hand to assist passengers. The arrivals route remains unchanged. All Ryanair passengers returning to Manchester will continue to arrive at Terminal 3 For more information, please follow this link bit.ly/3XfJkpf

@sdb Hi Steve I have spoken to the Inspector at First Huddersfield and passed on your concerns he said he will try and make sure that double deckers can run on those routes on strike days (when and where they have them available ) He did understand the concerns you have in that 1/2

@MetroTravelNews @BeeNetwork I was hoping that Metro, as the body that claims to coordinate public transport, could do some coordinating that might have a bit more weight than customer feedback that they won't even read for weeks

@Nintenmarz @ExploringAlway @oliviakarenn1 To move to most EU countries and work, you would need a visa which has to be sponsored by a company there who would have to demonstrate that they couldn't have recruited an EU resident to do the job. "Easier" doesn't begin to cover the difference.

@sdb @ExploringAlway @oliviakarenn1 But you don’t need free movement to move somewhere. It only makes it easier and under 2% of brits used it. And we never even voted to have it in the first place.

@Nintenmarz @ExploringAlway @oliviakarenn1 That's a whole separate angle of why the post I was replying to is ridiculous. "No, nothing stopping those under 25s relocating to EU." - The loss of Freedom of Movement courtesy of Brexit is literally stopping people from relocating.

@sdb @ExploringAlway @oliviakarenn1 Not really. They aren’t the ones saying how important it was for them to be able to move to another country like people who want free movement do.

@ExploringAlway @oliviakarenn1 This is such a non-argument. By this logic, those who didn't like the UK being in the EU should have relocated rather than pushing for Brexit.

@oliviakarenn1 No, nothing stopping those under 25s relocating to EU. If EUtopia was so great, UK would have a university, R&D and IT-AI Brain drain. UK will never rejoin the EU Brussels cartel, deal with it.

@oliviakarenn1 We had a referendum and decided to leave - you just have buyers remorse! The terms the EU would dictate for the UK and Northern Ireland to re enter would also be prohibitive!

@MetroTravelNews Given how embarrassing the Sunday/BH timetables are in many places (two buses every two hours, 5 minutes apart on my route on a major Huddersfield A Road) I'm not sure that drawing attention to it helps the cause.

@real_shirelass @RNLI As Brexit (and our being dragged out of the Dublin agreement which allowed asylum seekers to be returned to the first EU country they encountered) is the literal reason for the Farage Boats, don't you agree that nobody should support Reform UK whose idiot leader caused them?

I’m hearing from different sources on social media, that a huge amount of people are now cancelling their direct debits and completely stopping support for the @RNLI (The Royal National Lifeboat Institution) charity. This is because the lifeboats are acting like a taxi service in the channel for the illegal immigrants. And FYI….The CEO of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) is paid a yearly salary of £175,000, according to the RNLI. This was the salary set for the new Chief Executive who was appointed in June 2024. The lifeboats are assisting the Government and traffickers to bring in the illegals, this is treason. It’s aiding and abetting the invasion of the UK, flooding the country with traffickers. Now people are stopping the financial support for RNLI until they stop helping the illegal immigrants. Enough is enough. The awakening is accelerating. Do you agree we should stop supporting the RNLI lifeboats?

@WestSpotter @EYFillingham It was a general comment which seemed relevant given the picture was on a First bus rather than one of his company's. Although I think he was at FWY when they started the spiral of timetable shredding in response to low usage post covid rather than making the service attractive

@sdb @EYFillingham Well no with the Huddersfield bit I partly agree as yeah they’re a bit naff but we can’t have a go at Stuart as he doesn’t control it and if the route is a contract who’s to say the bus company can even control the timetable as some times it’s down to the local councils

@WestSpotter @EYFillingham If you think the current timetables are adequate, you're entitled to that opinion. I doubt many who have to put up with First Huddersfield share it. Having to plan your life around an infrequent service is not my idea of the way to get people to change their driving habits.

@sdb @EYFillingham Well as a wise man once said “you wait for the bus because the bus doesn’t wait for you” so would you go on a flight and turn up just when the plane has left? No of course not! And the timetable is there so it’s equal frequency for all. And as Stuart said who said threadbare?
