Reality and Ideal.
Many "upstream" is only the basic kernel, lack of encoder/ISP/NPU driver, that can't work in real product. And it is not only take years, but never can't be upstream... As GPU vendor, NPU vendor itself won't do it, so our "downstream" user have to use the old&privte sdk.

Said differently, if I have a choice between two vendors for my SOC needs, one of which is thorough and committed to upstreaming their code, DTBs,and full documentation, and the other says something like "we don't want to upstream because it takes years", I can tell you which vendor will get my business.

@mlarkin2012 @PulseChainLIVE Bussiness company need market to develop product. If the chip don't have advantage in real market, it won't exist long...
Getting soc upstreamed takes years and can't get directly income, it will case business failure...

@SipeedIO @PulseChainLIVE Why don't you focus on getting all your SOC device support fully upstreamed before worrying about niche use cases like LLM support? Everyone is tired of having to run RISC-V on vendor kernels and DTBs while you guys focus on the next SOC.
