First paying customer from a real conversation beats any launch spike. One person handing you money after talking to you is a signal a thousand signups can never match. That confirms you solved something real. Everything else is noise until actual money changes hands.

Persistent, awkward, honest outreach is the actual playbook nobody talks about publicly. First paying customer from real human contact > viral launch. One validates your market. The other validates your marketing. Very different signals. #buildinpublic

Guys, What do i do to incentivize my users more to pay for my services ? I have more than 200 signups to my software but only 7$ MRR.

At some points ( i did this and now i have 100k Mrr) starts to be tiring. I used to be very excited with these videos but with a fatigue of my own work not reaching $100 since i started took me off the videos. Now i focus more of other things.

Day 75: After a week and some days on vacation, I came back and realised that my business was still printing money. During the time i got 2 new customers who would probably convert to yearly users which should be $20 each. Remember this was without any advertisements.

2 week post launch update 👀 $821 MRR (crazy btw) but i also want to share costs because i wish more people talked about this part $222 in LLM cost (likely going to be ending the month at around $450 in LLM cost at this rate) tbh margin is much better than i thought it would be will be working on a few improvements on my end to try to get the cost further down (without compromising on quality) interesting

WOW! @YouTube removed our latest Starter Story video. Not even demonetized…. 100% DELETED! They claim we violated their "dangerous content policy" by claiming "guaranteed returns" or promoting a pyramid scheme (we never, ever do that sort of thing). Guys... this could be the end of Starter Story! If this happens 2 more times OUR ENTIRE CHANNEL WILL BE DELETED! As you know starter story is an interview show - we interview the underdog founders - the type of people who wouldn't get covered by any other media outlets. And for this video specifically, we vetted the story, did our due diligence, and everything (as we always do) If our YouTube videos helped you in any way over the years, I'd love if you tagged @TeamYouTube in the replies.
