Vanillaware's founder George Kamitani said that he wants to port his studio's games to PC, but it depends on the publisher to finance the ports. BitSummit's James Mielke, who talked with Kamitani, said if you want 13 Sentinels, Dragon’s Crown, Unicorn Overlord, Odin Sphere etc. on PC, make some noise. bsky.app/profile/milkma…

STOP saying “feminine.” That’s from Latin. The native English word is “wifely,” from Old English wīflīċ.

Of course, any form of modern class snobbery is retarded, because it's not rooted in true aristocracy, just merchant class dick measuring. "Hmmph, my family was selling widgets before yours was."

To me, there is nothing more philosophically incoherent than a left-wing snob. "I hate capitalism and want to abolish social class, but I look down my nose at middle-class people for wearing off-the-rack suits and preferring pretty paintings to ugly ones."

USA. A breakfast counter. The waitress recommended the biscuits and gravy, and when the plate arrived, I thought something had gone wrong in the kitchen. I say this with shame. The dish looked like a construction site after rain. Pale mounds. Gray ladle-fall. Speckles I could not identify. In my land, the eye eats first. A meal is arranged like a garden. This meal was arranged like weather. "Is it… finished?" I asked, carefully. "Honey, that's what it looks like." The man beside me was already eating his. He did not look up. "Just try it." I am a man who has charged hillsides at dawn. I raised the fork. I tried it. I must now formally apologize to the biscuits, the gravy, the waitress, the kitchen, and the entire breakfast tradition of the American South. It was magnificent. Warm. Peppered. The biscuit drank the gravy the way a field drinks rain — THAT is why it is shaped like that, you fool — and every mound I had insulted was a soft fold of comfort that my homeland, in eight hundred years, never once thought to invent. "Well?" the waitress asked. "I judged it," I confessed. "By its appearance. I am ashamed." "Everybody does, hon." Everybody does. A national dish that forgives you for doubting it. It expects the doubt. It waits for you on the other side of it. Do not judge the gravy by its face. Judge yourself, for hesitating. I order it every Saturday now. I no longer see the construction site. I see only the garden. It was a garden the whole time. The eye must be trained.

The craziest part of Musk becoming a trillionaire is that I remember when the federal deficit was only 160 billion (2007) At that time, the national debt was 9 trillion, which seemed like an unfathomably large number. Now the national debt is $40 trillion, the deficit is $1.5 trillion when things are going well but no one talks about it because the Republicans have given up on the concept of fiscal sanity.

tech people trying to politely untangle the logic of democrats today, explaining how wealth is really held, produced, and all the good the industry is doing as if people like sanders or mamdani or kanna care — they don’t. they just want your shit. please understand this already.

Hypothetically, a crazy person offers you $1 million for 1/1,000th of the equity in your house. You still get to live there. They just own a tiny piece and hope it goes up in value. You take the deal. Congratulations, your house now has an implied valuation of $1 billion. you’re a “billionaire” Do you have a billion dollars? No. If the government wanted to tax you on your unrealized gain is there a money dollars to take? No.

All the negative responses to this post is leftists getting upset that people are rightfully associating “media literacy” with “my leftist interpretation of art is the only correct one” and seeing it as pretentious instead of insightful.

At a certain point in your life you’re going to get into HEMA stuff. You’re going to buy a waster, which is a weighted wooden sword, to practice. What I am telling you, from twenty years’ experience, is that you cannot - you cannot - play with it inside of your house

@Fenrirtheicewo1 Then realizing that a lot of the files are comprised of spurious rumors and hearsay from obviously unreliable “witnesses” interspersed with actual real information. But even then, it’s no surprise if someone in the entertainment industry is a creep.
