@plewisbaseball I’m sorry but the pitching coach you should run from is one that tells you to swing at any strike - 0-0 - you swing at your pitch not any pitch.

If you have a hitting coach who tells you to “take a strike” RUN (unless it’s late and down several runs…..even then I hate it). As a pitcher, the goal is to get one of the first two over for a strike. Why be passive early? It’s a terrible approach IMO. 0-1 is not an advantage as a hitter. Hitting is hard enough with 3 strikes. Why give one away?

Bishop Gorman is in a class by itself in NV. If you've been to the campus, you'd know why. they rival most D-2 schools. they recruit on the national level & their back-ups are D-1 prospects. the closet thing AZ. has is Ben Franklin in 3A. In a class by themselves at that level. small rural teams can't compete with that powerhouse.

There was a way to solve this , keep it the same and then when the playoffs start have the public schools play to crown a NIAA State Public Champion and have Gorman play an extra game in the regular season and wait to play the Public Winner for the NIAA State Championship, one day a PS will win both titles and it will be momentous for them and no one ducks competition.
