We can’t just look at jobs created, those jobs must pay a wage and have benefits that allows a person to support a family. We can’t just look at market growth, a fair share of that wealth must flow to households. #FamilyCenteredEconomics

The Senate did not pass both bills. @HouseDemocrats knew that the Senate would not pass both bills. You broke a strike and sent a message to labor that the bosses have the support of the government. Shameful. #Railroadstrike
Bobby L. Rush@BobbyLRush

As a former railroad worker myself, I am deeply concerned for railroad employees. That’s why I voted for both of @SpeakerPelosi’s bills that would keep the country’s rail lines running & grant workers the personal time off they deserve. I urge the Senate to pass both bills.

Servant leaders tend toward deliberative approaches to democracy. Politicians prefer simple opinion surveys and consultant crafted messaging.
Vote Vick 🌹🕊🧡@VoteVickUSA

@GangUbi What @Aegtema is describing is very similar to a deliberative poll. We did one on @Christhecitizen’s congressional campaign. We need candidates who want to make deliberative polling and deliberative democracy part of their everyday actions while in office.

An American community is terrorized by this violence. Should our hearts break any less because these Americans struggle with poverty or because the criminal may be from a traditionally marginalized group? Compassion for the victims and accountability for the criminal. Period.

The perpetrator of this crime is probably NOT a deranged White Nationalist. But, this is a mass shooting. Where is the national outcry? The unrelenting manhunt? The federal investigators? The national news networks? Guess it doesn’t fit the narrative. 😢blockclubchicago.org/2022/10/31/up-…

This is why today’s politics miss me and many other Black people of faith. “the culture war has set a framework in which progressivism and conservatism, AS DEFINED IN WHITE MAJORITY SPACES, are billed as the only two legitimate options.” -@JustinEGiboney (emphasis mine)

This has been a heart project for my friend, @MichaelRWear for years. So excited to see it come into fruition! Rejoicing with you, brother!

I hope when you visit ccpubliclife.org, and learn more about our work, you will be encouraged. More to come throughout the day, but for now I just want to express my gratitude that I am now able to invite you into this work, after years of planning and building.

I have no interest making American “again” what she use to be. But, so-called “wokeism” doesn’t reflect the best of what she can be. We must build a future on the foundation of values that are anchored in truth and aimed toward the flourishing of people, families and communities.

I don’t believe that corporate America created cultural progressivism (a society sick with sin and too accepting of hatred, bigotry, abuse, and oppression did that). But, corporate America has supported and supercharged cultural progressivism because it helps drive profits.

@JustinEGiboney Facts. What they don’t yet realize (or fail to acknowledge) is that #parents are not going to change their position on wanting what is best for their children.

Corporations that put profit over everything will prefer laborers who work rather than worship on the sabbath; who pick up and move at a moments notice rather than invest long-term in a community; who will have an abortion rather than demand support for family life.

Really…now supporting charters (not even the most robust form of school choice) is a Republican position? How many people do we want to drive out of this party? 🤦🏾‍♂️
Justin Giboney@JustinEGiboney

A Black woman, running for Georgia School Superintendent, is called a Republican by a senior Dem Party official for supporting charter schools. That’s a terrible strategy going into a critical midterm election. Many Black Dems support charter schools. ajc.com/politics/polit…

Congratulations to Connecticut State Representative Treneé McGee for handily winning her first primary re-election campaign! The pro-abortion challenger had no hope against her #WholeLife campaign. Next stops: victory in November and continued service to District 116!!
