Gavin Newsom's wife recalls telling prisoners at San Quentin about running over and killing her sister with a golf cart. She said that she wasn't punished because it was an accident but that the prisoners are doing life even though theirs was "probably an accident too."

@eigenrobot Many of the units involved were forged from a similar failed operation in 1980 - 'Eagle Claw'. These units were purpose-built to succeed in these conditions. It's pretty awesome, actually.

Oakland progressives are unserious. Polling about “Piedmont Billionaires” while the ONLY billionaire in Piedmont is their own mega donor Quinn Delaney who also lives in the most expensive house in Piedmont (7.5m)

@eigenrobot I had two months of unemployment in winter of 20-21 in CA after I separated from the Army. The paperwork was fine, but CA EDD said I wasn't eligible (I was) and I had to repay both months (I did).

I would love one. I have never tried Codex. Been using CC & Gemini CLI with a custom-forked qmd, and now Hermes and CLAWcode. Setting up pure local quantized Qwen today... Built: - a11yVault.ai - Easy, Accurate, affordable, DIY WCAG auditing ($99 vs $20k) - Now working on audio/video intelligence.

@GergelyOrosz They planned on doing something much worse than breaking the law with fake DMCA takedowns. This is nothing. Look at their board. It's like a globalist degrowth Death Star. These people don't just lose and walk away.

OK, this is not April fool's: Anthripic seems to be issuing mass DMCA requests on code that are legit forks of Anthropic's own (open!) "claude code" repo This is looking terrible on Anthropic. Btw it's also breaking of the law to file a DMCA on something that never broke it
Theo - t3.gg@theo

Anthropic DMCA’d my Claude code fork. …which did not have the Claude Code source. It was only for a PR where I edited a skill a few weeks ago. Absolutely pathetic.

Today's executive order is another alarming attack on Americans' right to vote. Washingtonians cherish voting by mail because they know it is secure and convenient, but President Trump’s efforts to interfere with mail-in ballots could cause chaos and disenfranchise voters just months before the midterms. The framers were deliberate; the Constitution entrusts election administration to the states.

BREAKING: President Trump has signed an executive order requiring states to impose stricter mail-in voting rules and directing his administration to create a list of confirmed U.S. citizens who are eligible to vote in each state. cbsn.ws/4sVc86w

Americans are not ready to watch sons and daughters hunted by FPV drones. Some may not like this post, and that’s OK. Some may see this as being a “panican,” and that is also OK. My tolerance for American blood being spilled is very, very low. But this needs to be said: If you have paid any attention to the war in Ukraine, you will know how drone warfare has escalated. You will have an understanding of the sophistication of the Ukrainians and Russians in their pursuit of hunting and killing each other with human-guided robots strapped with explosives. We know Russia and Iran share military ties; hell, the most common form of long-range standoff munition used to target Ukrainian infrastructure is an Iranian-designed Shahed drone. Now, are the Iranians as sophisticated as the Russians? No. But will a ground action result in grainy videos of Americans being hit by FPV drones? Almost certainly. Could the deployment of ground forces to the Gulf be a feint? Sure, it could be, but this point extends beyond Iran. The U.S. needs to be ready to counter the drone menace. I won’t pretend to know the inner machinations of the Joint Chiefs, the White House, or President Trump, but with the destruction of an E-3 Sentry on the runway, it has become absolutely clear the U.S. armed forces have not scaled their ability to handle drones. I don’t know what the answer here is, but I haven’t seen this point brought up at the frequency it deserves. It needs to be said. We are not ready for footage of American soldiers and Marines cowering in their last moments, set to some upbeat pop song or some cleric screaming praises to Allah.
