I guess if a man takes the wife’s name he’s in the same situation. You have to go to the DMV to renew your license. I guess the next big issue will be that it’s a hardship to get to the DMV to renew license. Or what about green card holders. Should they be exempt too? My 84 year old mother (ie woman aka female) managed to get online to fill out green card paperwork and then actually drove herself two hours away to Atlanta to get her biometrics done. She does it every 10 years. Some things are worth doing. We need the SAVE act passed and women are capable enough to get required ID.

This is a lie. The SAVE America Act makes it harder for Americans to vote if they have name discrepancies and do not have the requisite documents to obtain new copies to prove their citizenship. It does far more than simply require ID to vote, and you all know that. Quit lying to the American people.

That’s because, when you register to vote you already show an ID which can simply be your license. In some states you have to show a voter Id to actually vote. This bill will stop mail in ballots, which are instrumental to the elderly and people living in rural states, especially when gas prices going through the roof. It also disenfranchises woman, who if married have to prove their birth name. John was having an event, which I assume people paid tickets for. Of course you would have to show an ID. Totally different situation. Nice try.

How many go uncaught? Just like the hospice, autism and nursing home scams that have been going on for years and years. It’s against the law to even ask for ID in California elections. There is a difference between voting and registering to vote. I’m not talking about voting at the polling stations.

Yes we must protect it. More than ever. No mailing ballots willy nilly either - to be hawked on a street corner. Only requested absentee. We need a valid photo ID at the polls. Period. Voting is seen as a fundamental right tied to citizenship and democracy. Voting is a core right that government must protect and facilitate for eligible people.

Decades of evidence shows voter fraud is extremely rare, typically on the order of 0.0001% to 0.002% of ballots cast, or a handful of cases per million votes, nowhere near enough to swing national or most state races. Elections are secure.

The ID I can use to fly wouldn’t be enough to vote. The SAVE Act is not a voter ID law, it’s voter suppression.

They should fix the SAVE database, allow grace periods & easy appeals for false flags, provide free & accessible document assistance, and do pilot programs before nationwide-mandates.

SAVE America Act would require voters to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote and a valid photo ID before casting their ballots. This legislation aims to ensure that only eligible citizens can vote in federal elections. Again, I don’t know why anyone that is a citizen of the United States would have a problem with this. And actually the vast majority do not.
