@find_the_matrix @ripeth 1) Why can't banks settle off-chain the way they have been forever? 2) There is no reason this can't exentend to settlement. @chainlink already demonstrated this with ANZ. When was the last time XRP had meaningful partnership with a bank where something was actually built?

@ripeth X is wild with rumors. Linea: fixes blockchain messaging & stablecoin scaling. XRP: solves cross-border settlement, which is still the hardest part. Cross-border payments are complex. Messaging ≠ money moved. Even if SWIFT uses Linea messaging, they'll need better settlement.

Swift, the global banks payment network, selected Linea the Ethereum L2, to bring its network onchain and explore a stablecoin. this marks another major institution choosing to build or tokenize on Ethereum. is XRP the biggest lie? it wasn’t selected again but still ranks as the third-largest blockchain by market cap.

@DanRuss99066535 @ripeth Its more like there is no reason for Ripple if swift can achieve the same outcome without XRP. They are the current industry standard, why would banks choose a XRP when they already have deep integrations with SWIFT who now demonstrates that they can achieve the same outcomes

The reeks of desperation on Swift's part. They realized that there is 0 reason for Swift to exist with the RipplePay system out there. They have to maintain their outdated messaging system to keep the norm and consequently, their cash flow to survive. So they are looking at replication of the existing message system in block chain that simply tells banks to move money in the existing movement rails. This does not move liquidity on chain. It only moves the movement orders on chain. Linea will not suddenly moon shot because of this as the real money stays in the banks in the form of fiat. At best this delays the inevitable demise of swift in favor of xrpl for a little longer

@Live2Invent @ripeth SWIFT already processes trillions daily so I doubt liquidity will be the bottleneck. Also as mentioned already, this is a different model. They could record “instructions” on Linea while fiat settlement continues off-chain, which is how SWIFT works today. No liquidity needed

@CryptoSwim @ripeth Good luck to Linea and Swift both. Who will provide liquidity and how? What will be the transfer speed and cost. Etc..

@myStankFace @ripeth They likely both play a roll. Link facilitates messaging (CCIP), compliance (ACE), currency conversion (price feeds), asset audits (NAV), etc. There needs to be a central point of truth though. An immutable + auditable log that verifies txs. Eth is the only choice for this

@ripeth it has nothing to do with ETH & everything to do with $LINK chainlink is what makes this possible, yet you’re somehow focused on ETH that plays a negligible role

@Live2Invent @ripeth Sure they are different use cases, but they achieve the same end-goal. XRP use case is to be an intemediary for cross-boarder transactions and settlement. SWIFT is exploring Cross-chain messaging to achieve the same settlement with out needing an intermediary.

@ripeth You have to check what Linea is for. XRP is a different use case. You guys don’t do technical analysis and create misinformation.

When SWIFT goes on-chain, it won’t be on a public network like Linea. Consensys will likely spin up a private fork just for them. Still a big signal: the world’s financial rails are eyeing L2s while Circle, Google, Stripe waste time reinventing L1s.

@ripeth XRP hype makes no sense. Banks don’t need XRP for cross-border settlement ...they can already do it with simple messaging/attestations. Who will banks pick: XRP or SWIFT, the standard for decades? And when it comes govmnts, who will they trust and design regulations around

@ripeth @mLaabs1984 Its unlikely they would launch on ethereum. Recent annoucements from Circle, Stripe, and Google all choosing to launch their own L1 for their stable coin networks probably indicates that this is the preference for institutions (at least when it comes to stables).

@mLaabs1984 yeah the stablecoin won’t necessarily be on linea, makes sense. you know it’ll be on ethereum.
