This is one HOT team! All the way from Texas, these 6th graders created their H.O.T.C.AR.S. Team and wanted to help eliminate hot car deaths and raise awarness by creating a dvice to remind caregivers when a child is still in a vehicle. #ecyber19 #USAEOP

Any time you get out of your car, your child needs to come with you! Cars heat up fast, even when it doesn’t seem too hot outside, and leaving your child inside puts them at risk of heatstroke or even death.

38 children die each year from heat-related deaths after being trapped inside hot cars. Change in routine can cause even the best of parents/caregivers to unknowingly leave a baby in a car, the end result can be injury or death. If you see a child trapped in a hot car call 911.

The weather is heating up, so here's your friendly reminder to *never* leave kids (or pets!) in a vehicle. Not for a quick errand. Not if the windows are rolled down. Never. Ever. Watch this video for some quick tips to prevent hot car deaths: bit.ly/MDhotcar

There were 52 child vehicular heatstroke deaths in the US last year in 2018. Leaving a child or animal in a hot car for a few minutes can lead to heat illness and potential death. Cars will be very hot this weekend. Look before you lock and never leave a child/pet in a hot car!
