I normally don't comment on pricing for artists. But there are times when charging for things becomes too much at times and it takes advantage of those who don't know the actual market for photographers.

Bro WHAT??? Are furries really that dumb to pay these prices??? My wedding photographer that did the WHOLE night was only a few grand. $1.2k for 10 pics??? What kind of delulu...professional cosplay shoots aren't CLOSE to this. And they are professional, full time, photographers.

What the hellll 😭😭 The Megaplex pool is one of the main reasons I go to that con. You already know toys won't be allowed in that other pool since it'll be overcrowded like the big one was last year, which there was a huge que for. Who tf closes a pool in the hottest month

Shes right. Cons pre covid or even pre 2017 were fun and youd see all kinds of anime stuff. Now you get vendors selling flavor of the month anime merch, 9 different hentai artists, furries, and politics of both sides. Best you can get is small cons, even then it feels off.

I'll be straight with you, as someone who's worked as part of organization and safety staff at furcons, I've always seen room parties as a problem because the guests refuse to take liability for any damage they cause and the hotel ultimately demands restitution from the convention itself. We've had several issues with hotels straight up threatening to ban the convention in the upcoming years due to room parties and the amount of property damage that results from them. Now I understand that not every room party is problematic, hell not even a majority of them are an issue. But in this case a few bad apples will absolutely spoil the bunch as the convention ultimately gets burdened with damages to hotel relations and repair costs. The choices most furry cons now face are: allow room parties but risk getting their hotel agreements voided because of property damage and noise complaints, impose strict room inspections to make sure that nothing is being damaged (which I believe no guest would be happy with and no staff member would willingly want to do) or ban room parties all-together. Which it looks like the hotel itself has taken upon themselves to enact.

250 Fine for "Noise Disturbance" (AKA no parties) The paper is the first warning, no second warning. No more then 4 people in a room and if you violate it, you may be asked to leave and forfeit any deposits or payments.

@DrFoxTheVTuber @WolfyLion Execpt this letter by the hotel is stating that having more then four people in a room at any time is a violation and if found you will be kicked out of your room. No warning. Hard to even hang with a few friends in that case

@WolfyLion I'm sure by "party" they mean "rager." You can have a party, it just can't be one that your neighbors really notice. In a hotel room, that shouldn't be too hard, the walls are usually pretty thick.

@WaldochWhiplash @WolfyLion The hotel is setting adult limits to use of their room. If people are pissed at that then they are saying they don't care about what they use that they don't own, and they don't care about other occupants at this con or in the futurd. So yes it really does.

So I honestly expected these numbers to be a lot bigger. Attendance from 22 to 23 was a nearly 2k growth in attendees. (1,906) Attendance from 23 to 24 was 1,253 more attendees. From 24 to 25? Only 125 more attendees than last year. Are we starting to finally see a curb?
