another day hanging out with the people in my town and having a blast! at this point, i think if you are one of those "anti furs" or whatever, you'd be pretty quickly kicked out of any establishment in my rural town if you caused trouble.

@dirdwolf @ColeWuff Same. We all want to do the right thing but as we can see the fandom is terrible at policing actual issues while elevating everything that is borderline inconsequential.

Real question: does con staff have any training on spotting child trafficking? At my hotel job, we were trained that if I saw an underage guest with an older male who wasn't family, and they were holding hands. I'd have to let my manager know immediately. Poor child :(

@friskyfoxlog @ColeWuff Checkr reports background checks at $30? Have about 300 staff? that's $9000. How much does the main stage cost for us? AV contracts, even for basic stages easily surpass 45k. I might be willing to make concessions to keep people safe, even at 10k, it's a drop in the bucket.

you’re welcome, and thanks for hearing me out, genuinely. now that we got that out of the way, let’s look at this post you made. you said i shouldn’t be in charge of a soda fountain because I’m unstable. I just said that I don’t care about slushee and never have, they can go to lvfc if they want without issue. their prediction about me immediately failed the moment new information appeared. by your own admission, you think cons should be 21+, i assume to protect kids. yeah, lvfc is 21+, and i had a part in making that a reality. maybe you’ve seen how successful lvfc has been. thousands of people have come through over the last four years and had an incredible time with remarkably few major issues. i don’t take all the credit, because there are a lot of amazing people that make that happen, but i absolutely play a significant role in its operations. don’t take my word for it. look at what attendees say every year. i also just spent the last twelve hours publicly arguing that convicted sex offenders shouldn’t even attempt to attend lvfc, and that i want that reflected in policy wherever legally appropriate. unless someone disagrees with removing convicted sex offenders from convention spaces, i’m not sure why that would be controversial. so let’s look at the evidence instead of the insult. i help run a convention that’s been successful for years. i advocate for stronger safety policies… i was elected vice chair because the board trusted me to do the job. i wasn’t campaigning for it. i found out while i was in the bathroom at another con during a board meeting. so if your conclusion is still “this guy can’t even run a soda fountain,” then i don’t know what evidence would actually change your mind. :/ hell, if i did run a soda fountain, half of you would probably be drinking for free while i stayed in the back cleaning the machine because i genuinely give a shit about people, even the ones who think i’m an asshole. x.com/midnightfox699…

Empathy larp in the comment section. People would say things like “he should kill himself” or be tortured js do it to feel good about themselves, like they’re fighting evil. The dude is in jail without a phone. We’ve seen what this does to ppl with false accusations.

then you must’ve annoyed me with those accounts lmao. but i never made a doc or brought it up or thought twice about it. and for slushee, who does have me blocked now and probably won’t see this, i just checked their profile and saw a comment about me, i “think” i remember them years ago sending me an interesting twitter link or something on telegram, to which i said that i couldn’t respond because they had me blocked. they unblocked me and we followed each other for a time. fast forward to today, they said that they blocked me again because i asked them to unblock me once and then didn’t talk to them enough? brother, who cares? you aren’t on my mind. i don’t wake up and think “oh what did slushee say today?!?” truthfully, i didn’t even notice until just now. He sat on this uncomfortable feeling of me hating him for however long, avoided an entire con because he thought i was after him like the fucking kgb, meanwhile I’m over here mowing my lawn thinking about paying my property tax or some shit, and I’m the unstable one? get a grip.

@dirdwolf @fluffypawsuwu Not stupid. At least you clarified their question. But you do block alot of people that use "bad words" that hurt your feelings. I have like 10 other mains you blocked. A few that I never even interacted with you. So we are both right/wrong.

this thread has got to be one of the stupidest things i’ve ever read. i’ve never spent time “canceling someone” over hurting my feelings. and to slushee, i can’t ban someone because i don’t like them or they blocked me. there’s plenty of people who go to lvfc that i dislike, and that dislike me. the idea that i would ban someone from a con because of it is ridiculous. i’ve never monitored your account, i don’t even know who you are minus the brief interaction we had years ago, and i hardly remember it. you aren’t important to me at all and the only reason I’m here right now seeing this is because i was tagged by someone else.
