A Memphis man wanted in the rape of a nine-month-old infant was captured Friday in Jackson, Tennessee. Isaiah Hayes, 27, was wanted in Shelby County on charges of aggravated rape of a child, conspiracy to commit aggravated rape of a child, and especially aggravated solicitation of a minor. He is in the Madison County Jail awaiting extradition back to Shelby County.

This morning God put something on my heart to share with all the victims of abuse, trauma, rape, violence and so on: we have a choice. We can choose to live as a victim forever & surrender the rest of our lives to our abusers - or we can choose to take control over what follows. We are not responsible for what has happened to us, but we can take ownership & be responsible for what comes afterwards. It may be a process, it may take time, it may be a little at a time - but in the end we have the power to decide & to act. The evil people who took more from us than they should have or deserve, do not get all of us if we deny them authority & take responsibility for how we choose to live beyond those dark moments or years. We do not belong to that darkness. Life beyond it is beautiful.
