Woman Attacked By Gang Of Men Outside Church In Surrey. A woman in her 20s was raped in the early hours of Saturday morning after being followed from the Labyrinth nightclub in Epsom. She was attacked by several men outside Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road, between 2am and 4am on April 11. Surrey Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses, describing the incident as extremely distressing. Detective Inspector Aine Matthews said the victim is being supported by specialist officers while a team works at pace to identify and locate the suspects. Labyrinth nightclub is a short distance from Ashley Road in central Epsom. What has shocked locals is just how close the crime scene is to several licensed HMOs: - Finachem House at 2-4 Ashley Road is under 100 metres from the scene. - 27 Ashley Road and 29 Ashley Road are also on Ashley Road, roughly 200 metres away. These licensed HMOs are in the immediate vicinity of the church steps where the gang attack took place. No suspect descriptions, ages, or ethnicities have been released by police so far. Officers say they are still developing our picture of the suspects and will share further details as soon as they are able. The force is urgently appealing for anyone who was in the Ashley Road area between 2am and 4am, or who may have dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the time. They also want to speak to anyone who saw a woman in her 20s appearing in distress.
