Enrique Tarrio is not unusual. Many of those I spoke to at CPAC entirely agree with him (the former chairman of a far right organisation). The belief that Britain and Europe have “fallen” and that the US is the last bastion of Western civilisation is ubiquitous.

@arthistorynews I gained a love of art and interest in art history because museums and galleries were free and I could go there as a child with my working-class parents, who also loved art. I fear that any charges will end by restricting artistic heritage to a wealthier and posher elite.

For all the attention paid to how the U.S. hasn't quite thought this through, not enough attention is being paid to how Iran hasn't either.
