That’s because Ben is stupid and he thinks Iran is just a bigger version of Palestine. Iran has demonstrated an ability to not only defend itself but to also punch back hard. The reason this deal is coming as such a shock to so many is they truly believed Trump when he said we had defeated the Iranian military 38 times. Anyone who has been following the handful of Iranian/ME OSINT accounts on X isn’t surprised by the MoU in the least.

Unpopular opinion: Trump is playing everyone - and winning. He never really clashed with Israel. He has no intention of handing Lebanon to Jolani, allowing the IRGC to keep its ballistic missiles, or letting the US surrender deal with Iran go through. That’s exactly why Rubio, his top advisors, the CIA, and his allies - who all call the deal disastrous - are staying quiet right now. It’s all part of the game. What I expect to happen: The IRGC will collapse. The Iranian regime will fall with the help of its own people. Netanyahu and Trump will then release a joint statement revealing it was a calculated strategy all along - just like the first coordinated strike on Iran that took place during the "negotiations". The US and Arab partners will secure the Strait of Hormuz and key islands. A new order will rise in the Middle East, real peace will become possible, and Trump will walk away with the Nobel Peace Prize - having turned the region from chaos into stability. Change is coming.

I get why so many people are frustrated or skeptical about this Iran MOU. On paper, it looks like a massive compromise: $300 billion in unfrozen assets, a fixed schedule to lift sanctions, and immediate oil export waivers for Tehran. But what were we expecting when on one side, Trump is facing an apocalyptic regime that wants the world to burn and on the other, an American public that has no stomach for war? He played the cards that were actually on the table. I’m sick and tired of the politicians and podcasters who bitch and complain no matter what Trump does. They scream that the war has to stop, but the second he stops it, they turn around and yell, "what kind of deal is this?!" If the goal is to actually end Iran’s regime, history shows there's only one model that works: total WWII-style defeat, occupation, and denazification. That requires American boots on the ground and an Iranian people ready to build a free country from the rubble. But NO ONE, myself included, wants boots on the ground. Is this MOU what Trump wanted? I doubt it. But he did exactly what a leader of a Republic should do: he listened to the people and found a way to end this. A dictator would have kept on going. At the end of the day, a president can only go as far as the people will carry him. Right now, our appetite for war stops at the gas pump.

Here's what amazes me about the critics of Trump's peace plan. They act as if sinking Iran's navy, destroying their airforce and air defenses, wiping out 85% of their missiles and causing $1 trillion in damages to their military industrial complex is MEANINGLESS! Oh yes, and we basically destroyed their nuke program and got a promise they would not develop nukes. Those are all HUGE! How is this a loss? For God's sake, we have removed Iran as a threat to the Middle East! Sorry, I think this is a great plan. I'm 100% for it. This will be HUGE for the global economy.

As much as I support law enforcement, if you can’t stay level-headed when some knucklehead challenges you and you’re ready to resort to violence because your ego got bruised, you don’t belong in public service, especially when you’re carrying a weapon and entrusted with authority over others.

I just had a very lengthy and productive discussion with @SEPeaceMissions @SteveWitkoff about the state of play regarding Iran.   After this discussion, it is my opinion that signing the MOU will be beneficial to the United States, in as much as the Strait of Hormuz will begin to open, and the hostilities with Iran will stop.   Whether or not the United States can reach an acceptable, verifiable deal with Iran regarding its nuclear program and other issues is yet to be determined, but I see little downside to trying.   The economic stability that comes from opening up the Strait and the cessation of hostilities could create a pathway to peace well beyond the Iranian conflict.   The expansion of the Abraham Accords and normalizing relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel is President Trump’s and my ultimate goal. I think that is best achieved by creating economic stability for the United States, the region and the world, as well as the cessation of hostilities.  The signing of the MOU is an essential step to make that happen and thus it is worthwhile.

Facts: Obama didn’t get rid of the Iranian leadership, didn’t lay a finger on their military assets but trusted them with a deal worth billion$. Trump got rid of the Iranian leadership, devastated their military and nuclear program and then started over with a diplomatic deal that will secure America’s future. This is how it is done. We’ve never had a President mixing military action and diplomacy so seamlessly.

This sudden, odd, and disturbing change makes me wonder if Iran revealed that it really has nukes, which the US didn’t know about till mid war. In his speech at the G7, I believe he was clearly referring to it by saying that if it wasn’t for the deal and US Israel would have been nuked. I really hope I am wrong.
