@AmandaJBrunker @GalwayCycling No, I think that is an unfair statement. I've been travelling down that part of the Clonskeagh roads for years & it always has been busy with cars. The infrastructure makes it far safer for pedestrians and cyclists now. More cars and roads just adds to the problem, not fixes it.

@GalwayCycling It was an unproblematic space before. Traffic flowed. People crossed. Everyone was happy. Now drivers get very agitated with the extra queue times and I believe it’s more dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians now.

The @Irishheart_ie is enormously grateful to Minister @DonnellyStephen and @ColmBurkeTD for increasing the legal age of sale of tobacco to 21. It's another nail in the coffin of Big Tobacco and will have a huge long-term impact on Ireland's toll of 12 deaths a day from smoking.

@CanYaHackett @dlrcc @PollinatorPlan I noticed that also in Deerpark and was shocked. messaged all the DLRCC councillors to inquire why it happened. A number of them will follow up with parks department, but one really helpful GP councillor told me it may be part of the meadow management.

Very proud that the @Irishheart_ie signed up to this @DublinCommuters letter. #Dublin as it stands is an unhealthy city. Vital we implement the Transport Plan & other measures that priorities active travel so that we build a safe, healthy, & sustainable city @DubCityCouncil
Dublin Commuters@DublinCommuters

Dublin Commuter Coalition have sent a letter to the DDC CEO Richard Shakespeare, calling for an emergency meeting to discuss the planned Transport Plan being watered down and potentially delayed. Please read below and share widely. dublincommuters.ie/post/dublin-co…

Very proud to get an agreement for Dublin City Council over the line. It's rooted in practical delivery - raising funds to clean our streets, fix up social housing, and develop new playgrounds. You can read the "Delivering for Dublin" agreement here: pidgeon.ie/delivering

@ciaranahern This is great to hear. All parts of Dublin should be safe, fair, and accessible to those who choose to walk, cycle, wheel, and take public transport

Memorable moments for me last Sunday when I was personally congratulated for my great achievement in Cork City Council by Minister Michael Martin. Thank you, Michael, for encouraging me and my family. Up the GREEN PARTY!

The last thing #Dublin City centre is more cars and car parks. Cities are for people and in order to have any kind of flourishing, healthy city, it needs to prioritise #walking, wheeling, public transport and #cycling Not cars, they are unhealthy for human and planetary health
The Irish Times@IrishTimes

O’Leary suggested that authorities should be building car parks in the city centre to cater for the growing numbers who in the future will use electric cars to commute to Dublin. irishtimes.com/politics/oirea…

@OlaLN Very exciting! Hopefully Brent does come on board, and the wider country can follow the steps of Limerick. We definitely need more directly elected majors in Ireland, starting with Dublin

If newly elected mayor John Moran is bringing in help from the legendary Brent Toderian, only the sky is the limit for Limerick! Very exciting news!
Brent Toderian@BrentToderian

Well now, this is really interesting — my client from a couple years back in Ireland, who brought me in to help with the visioning and planning of a new urban quarter in Limerick, Ireland (see thread below), is now running for Mayor of the city! @MoranJohnA1 seemed to me to be a smart, innovative and passionate urbanist. Good luck John! #Limerick #Ireland #JohnMoran
