@DanielM20598939 Part of it is the on-going hiring struggle from the operators… but either way, the funding needs to be there in the budget This Government is not prioritising Public Transport delivery, or Road safety MetroLink will move along, but most of the rest is delayed

@DublinCommuters Thanks for reply. Around sept last year they had phase 8 for spring 26. If its a funding issue transport minister should be sacked. I heard that re staffing could be jan.feb 27. Lack of communication re it and target shows lack of ambition.

This is obviously worst case scenario planning… but it’s really exposing just how bad Dublin gets hit by volatile fossil fuel prices Government didn’t fund BusConnects expansions in 2026 & haven’t funded 3 of the Dublin Luas projects… 🤷🤷‍♀️ m.independent.ie/irish-news/war…

@DanielM20598939 NTA’s current schedule has both Phase 8 & 9 launching in Q4 of this year… but there’s no funding in the budget for either Even if it was in Budget 2027 in Oct/Nov, there wouldn’t be enough time to staff up for one phase launch, let alone two of them

@DublinCommuters Do you have any more details re non funding of bus connect in 2026 expansion. Surely minister shoukd be sacked if true. Spine d was due spring 26 but still no word on it, i keep asking transport minister but he blanking question.

JR’s have been cleared for Finglas Luas, there are lots of questions remaining since the lands now won’t be purchased for the project Also, Government still haven’t funded construction until at least 2029 so it won’t be happening anytime soon irishtimes.com/crime-law/cour…

@oscargodolphin They’ve long-fingered Luas Poolbeg & Bray as well They’ve also not funded any phase expansion of BusConnects in the 2026 budget, despite the NTA’s timeline still saying Phase 8 & 9 are to launch in Q4 Impossible without funding

Mostly it’s because consecutive Governments haven’t prioritised, nor funded public Transport properly It’s 20 years since the Green & Red line Luas launched… there’s a million more cars on Irish roads in that time They’re still underfunding it as well rte.ie/news/analysis-…

@Deriglasow There’s both a non-statutory Consultation, and a Statutory one as part of the planning process We’ve already spotted a few improvements that could be made looking at the plans which would be ideal to include before the application is submitted

Plans have finally been released for the Train Depot that was removed from the Dart+ West project as part of the planning permission It will include an upgrade to Kilcock Station with Twin Tracking to facilitate train stabling Consultation is now open dartplus.ie/en-ie/projects…

*UPDATE* The screws have now been removed by a local resident The Council did respond immediately but the Community had already taken care of it by the time they got there 💪
