The rains in Mt Kenya and the Nyandarua Ranges in the last few days have been very heavy.
Today's alerts are awash with more heavy rains in the mountains, which form part of the Tana river catchment area.
Up to 90mm of rain is possible today.

The Swiss AI multi-model ensemble affirms German DWD ICON model's earlier prediction of heavy rains in #Nairobi . Both agree that over 60mm may fall in the city & it's environs within 24hrs from Friday evening into the night. The ICON model is more precise with timing, showing very heavy rains (>60mm) falling within the 3 hrs to 9PM Friday.
Once these two models are in agreement in regards to a weather event within 72hrs or less, the goose is as good as cooked. Hapa confidence level iko over 90%. Do whatever it takes to stay safe.

Showers start falling in the larger #Nairobi Metro area this evening/night. As per previous model predictions, rainfall intensity increases from tomorrow through Saturday. Just in: short range precipitation forecast by DWD ICON model show very heavy rains south of Kiambu county and North of #Nairobi on Friday 20/03 evening into the night. Up to 70mm may fall within 3 hours, triggering a deluge. We'll be tracking the storm as it unfolds and share further model updates as they trickle in. No need to panic. US warships can’t reload at sea; they must do so at naval bases. Iranian strikes have made all nearby bases unusable. It seems that USN is now using naval bases located on Crete and in Djibouti. Both are just within the longest-range, hard-to-intercept missiles in the Iranian arsenal. We should expect the Iranians to at least try to hit them. Big game, if they can bag it. Keep an eye out.

Are Mendes harmful? We met and passed a few resolutions. 1. No disease transmission. 2. I will provide food for them. 3. They only eat when lights are off. 4. I will not spray them; it's pointless because their relatives in my neighbor's house will come and replace them.
