PRINTING PERSPECTIVE

@PrintPerspec

Hey, I am Gerard, and I create concise videos that explore the performance of 3D printing designs, concepts, settings, and products – all based on testing data.

So... Here is the ACTUAL REASON why 3D Prints WARP: youtu.be/-ZPV-nVIIX4 BED ADHESION is NOT THE MAIN REASON... In this video, I explain cooldown stages and the main factors that cause warping. As usual, huge thanks to @PCBWayOfficial for sponsoring the video! 😎

At least we can all agree that we hate this in 3D printing... 😆

@Avaviel @ArkkBarkk Yes, it is the Nevermore StealthMax 300x300 that came with VentureXL. You can pack a lot of activated carbon. Big 3D printers produce large amounts of VOC, so it should work great. Hopefully... 😄

You can definitely make larger 3D prints with PC (polycarbonate) at 65C chamber. The only question is, are you willing to accept some warping? 🤨

You can't choose the thumbnail for YouTube Shorts on the desktop... (why?) You can't choose the thumbnail for YouTube Shorts on Android if you don't run the latest Android versions... I guess we need more AI features... than fixing actual issues. Thanks @YouTube 🤣

There is never too much air filtration! 😷 H2D and H2C don't even need AUX fans... Both already have powerful part cooling fans. EZ choice. Mod: "H2D/H2S Aux Filter XL" by "KYZ Design"

@blind_via I honestly thought the extruded filament will at least somewhat stick on a greasy bed, but it just immediately turned into a blob, lol. It is crazy that you can learn the importance of a clean bed even from a joke.

"My printer no work no more, it is broken!!! 🤬 It prints blobs instead of what I want! Any 3D printing experts?!" Meanwhile:

I knew that collecting all those screws that secure things in 3D printers during shipping (like the heatbed) would come in handy one day... 😂 THIS IS THE DAY! I always use heat inserts with bolts, but a project required self-taping screws. Saved my day! 🙃

@Randerson1301 The aluminum part of the heat bed warps. I checked when cold, and it looks like a crater lol. I only print high temp stuff on H2D, so if this is how bad and fast the bed gets after not that many cycles is a huge problem.

@PrintPerspec So is that the whole bed gantry plate warped then? Or do other build plates show flush? That's wild.

This explains why the bottom surfaces of my big ASA and PC prints turn into reverse taco (bed at 110C, chamber soaked 20min at 60C)... H2S has 2x lower bed warping. So either I am unlucky, or these beds get way worse over time. Please share your experience, I need to know! 🧐

@3DPrintNick Yeah, but this is not a little. I am seeing around 1.2mm reverse warping on some of my big prints in the middle, firmware can't compensate for that.

@petersteele Not wrong. I was convinced this hotend was unusable. But it kept bothering me to give another try. So I did. I bet a lot of people give up trying way too soon. Having a dedicated heating station helps a lot, I just used an old Volcano hotend as a heater lol.

@PrintPerspec Glad you got it sorted. I cant see any hot end getting truly clogged if you are determined enough to clear it

So I did. 😌 ~2 hours of heating, cold pulling, hex wrench shoving, 0.4mm needle poking, a couple of tiny burns, and the Bambu HF (CHT) hotend back to printing like new! Now I can go rest... 😅

@PrintPerspec The challenge now is to unclog it with cold pulls, cleaning filament or 🔥!

@CNC_Kitchen I wish I knew which method actually unclogged it. Because after 2 hours I just YOLO'ed with everything. If I would have to guess probably heating, poking with 0.4mm needle, pushing some filament, pulling it out and forcing what's left with hex key, rinse and repeat.
