@dmarcosm98 For BumpMesh and my Finite Element tool I need very regular meshes that conventional converters like OCC are simply not good at and for a web-tool OCC needs over 40x the download to even work.

First, I built only a debugging tool for my new STEP-to-STL converter, but this project quickly became the 3D model viewer I'd always wanted! Try it Free & OpenSource: cnckitchen.github.io/meshStep/

あります!まさにその用途のために専用工具を作りました。上からハンコのように押すだけで、インサートナットを表面に対してまっすぐ・面一に整えられます。 cnckitchen.store/products/inser…

インサートナットを入れた後に水平にならすいい工具ないかなぁ。定規だと熱が伝わって熱いのでマイナスドライバー使ってるけど、上からハンコみたいに押すのが使いやすそう。

Great work, @CNC_Kitchen ! I tried out BumpMesh for the first time. Really easy to get the hang of things! I added knurling to some filament clips to prevent them from slipping out of my fingers.

@Adam_V3D Prefer the bottom one, but probably mainly because of the shiny, very regular surface. Gonna be interesting which one is good fuzzy skin and which one is BumpMesh.

3D printing wood?!? 😮 Not quite! Using @CNC_Kitchen BumpMesh, I applied a wood texture to this Violin. Let's see how it turns out! Using @Polymaker_3D Panchroma PLA Brown.

Forget fuzzy skin. 👀  BumpMesh by @CNC_Kitchen opens up a whole new way to texture your 3D prints. Which project would you use this on?  Try it yourself: bumpmesh.com

@Swole_Medic What you can do is use a stepped-diameter bore and have the end of the screw thread into the plastic again, so the plastic acts as your "nylock" part. But you should probably buy those inserts😉 cnckitchenus.store

Does anybody know of heat inserts for 3D printed parts, but the insert is a locking style? I've considered loctite, but that would be messy and inconvenient for the application.

I built a robot to take the same photo over & over again... Salvaged 3d printer hardware made an excellent platform for some macro photography trickery. Check it out in my latest video!

OpenSauce 2026 is only three weeks away! It’s probably the best mad-science fair you can go to, and I’ll be there again alongside a ton of other amazing science creators. Tickets are still available, so grab one while you can: opensauce.com See you July 17-19!

I've tweaked and generated this stipple multiple times in minutes! Using free browser-based software like bumbmesh by @CNC_Kitchen, I was able to skip the multiple crashes of solidworks and the multiple steps in Blender.

While trying to debug a problem with the rear drive unit on my @Tesla Model Y I didn't find the cause of the issue BUT the remains of our chicken that a Beech Marten killed two years ago. One mistery solved🐔
