she charges TWENTY FUCKING QUID for fish and chips

BBC Politics@BBCPolitics
"Come and work in my restaurant for a week and I'll show you how it really, really works" Lorraine Arnold, a fish and chip shop owner, tells Labour MP Nesil Caliskan she's "incensed" after the government's Budget "devalued" her business #PoliticsLive bbc.in/3O7iygi

@ali__samson Huh? Aren’t the train companies all privatised - what does it matter what they’ve spent on it?
It’s not public money?
English

Oh this is the twitterest tweet ever 😂
Kirstie Allsopp@KirstieMAllsopp
WTAF! Train staff in pink T-shirts are handing out posh landfill; water bottles etc ‘cos it’s #WorldKindnessDay2024 How much money & time has been spent on this idea? How many trains is this happening on? Just make the train run on time, that’s the real kindness we all need. 🙄
English

@SpeakingSatan Yikes - that’s the biggest load of rubbish I’ve read in a while
As you say, it’s an OS. It’s wouldn’t ‘count’ anything, neither does Windows, or VMS, software on the system does that. And Linux clustering has been a thing for a long time (‘cannot split’? - just gibberish)
English

@tvpparking @ali__samson ‘prove that assertion’ was you, why don’t you disprove it?
English

@RandomKentGuy @ali__samson Nope. I've never said anything of the sort. You're attacking your own strawman fallacy and claiming victory.

@tvpparking @ali__samson I posited that no SA has been prevented by a sign on a door - you seem to think door signs have a measurable impact on SA frequency
You’ve yet to prove that’s the case 🤷🏻♂️
English

@RandomKentGuy @ali__samson Yes. And it's irrelevant. Nobody but you has claimed that a sign on a door is relevant. 😁
English

@tvpparking @ali__samson Yes, they were my words, my term, from my post - that *you* jumped into
That’s why it’s relevant
Do keep up
“What I’m talking about…” no-one cares about that - if I wanted to discuss that I would have hopped into *your* posts
English

@RandomKentGuy @ali__samson It's your term, not mine, so it's incumbent upon you to show that a "sign on a door" is relevant.
I'm talking about the necessity for sex-segregated spaces.. which is a well-documented need.
I haven't mentioned anything about a "sign on a door". Those are your words.
English

@tvpparking @ali__samson You haven’t answered it though - what % of serious sexual assaults would have been prevented by a sign on a door?
I’m not dismissing you, I chose to constructively engage. You’re the one being quite graceless, I actually have skin in the game with a wife + 13yr old daughter 🤷🏻♂️
English

@RandomKentGuy @ali__samson Yeh, I have. You dodging it and dismissing the evidence doesn't wash it away.
Your ignorance of basic, well-established, evidence-based safeguarding principles is a you problem.
English

@tvpparking @ali__samson You haven’t addressed my original point
Sexual assault is already illegal but there were ~200k UK cases in 2023 alone
Per my OP; what % of that 200k would have been avoided with a sign on the door?
English

@RandomKentGuy @ali__samson A) I already read it. That's why I responded to it.
B) If you post on X, you invite responses from others. That's the dynamic of all social media.
If you can't comprehend the issue with allowing males into female spaces and then protect it by law, you're a retard. Or a nonce.🙂
English

@tvpparking @ali__samson I think you need to go re-read my original post you invited yourself on to
What difference would a sign on a door make to those facilities?
English

@RandomKentGuy @ali__samson Yeh, they're all single-use facilties.
That's a false equivalence fallacy.
IOW you're talking utter bollocks.🙂
English

@nexsqueezeal @ali__samson I’m not sure anyone is claiming ‘it never happens’ but let’s assume that very helpful thread is all cases from 2023 alone
191,186 recorded SAs (UK 2023)
Thread is ~20 examples
You’ve highlighted a 0.01% problem 🤷🏻♂️
English

@tvpparking @ali__samson I really don’t need to
SMEs, trains, planes, etc - have had gender neutral facilities for decades, some since inception
You believe whatever you want to believe though 🤷🏻♂️
