Our country is founded upon a Judeo-Christian rock. Our rights don't come from a government. They're unalienable. They come from a Creator.
What's missing in our public life so often are the values embedded in the Gospel. Attacks on the Christian faith and religious liberty have never been more harsh. We're rewarding teaching sex education to a kindergarten class while we’re firing the coach who prays after a ballgame.
And if we focus our attention back towards the gospel, I think we'd solve a lot of problems in our nation. We must preserve the ability to worship as we see fit and take our values with us wherever we go. If we want a better America, I think it starts with faith in God and faith in each other.
The key ingredients to the next American century start in a place of worship.
I had a great friend at the movie theater I worked at in high school. I was 15 years old, and I was living in a very small apartment. He was living in a trailer park, and I would come to work every day and I'd ask a similar question. “Why are you so happy? We have no money. We're working 70 hours a week”.
And he simply said, “Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life.”
I was like, what else? I knew there had to be more than just that.
But the truth is that the longer I lived, the more I realized that there was something different about my friend and his witness. He didn't proselytize, so to speak. He didn't preach at me. Saint Francis of Assisi said, “I'd rather see a sermon than hear one.” I believe this to be true.
What I've tried to do is make sure that I model the behavior I want others to follow because it was modeled before me, and it led me to make a life-altering, eternity-changing personal transformation. Thank God Almighty that his Son rose from the grave.

@MattWallace888 @EdKrassen You are wrong, taxes on regular people are high and we receive nothing for it, while taxes for the wealthy remain low, so low that it causes a deficit.. figured someone like you pretending to be smart would know that 🤦🏽♂️ #NotMeUs
English

@EdKrassen Both sides are wrong. Taxes are already too high and we are 32 trillion in debt../ we can’t afford 💩

When it comes to student loan forgiveness, I understand both sides of the argument.
When it comes to PPP loans I also understand both sides of the argument.
There is no right side or wrong side. There are just opinions.
With that said, however, I find it extremely hypocritical that many of those who supported PPP loans are highly against forgiving student loans.
I personally believe investing in education should be a top priority in America. Whether it is public schooling, colleges, trade schools or specialty schools, it’s an investment worth making.
I personally would prefer to see government funding of education than loan forgiveness. The government should pay for college and help young adults learn new trades. It will ultimately increase our productivity as a nation.

@ProudSocialist 💯 correct!! Why should we vote for the very same people that allowed all the gains from the civil rights movement get rolled back?? #notmeus
English

@0liviajulianna Uhmmm Hillary won 😆. It was the broke racist electoral college system that ushered in Trump.
English

Hot take that might make the lefties mad; this is voter suppression.
Making people believe that voting third party or not voting is some form of liberation and freedom from the two party system is how right wing extremism has taken hold of states across the country. 🧵

You absolutely do not have to vote for Joe Biden. Even if you live in a swing state.

The whole "love, adopt, embrace, support, foster our pride crap or become Public Enemy No. 1 / persona non grata" is getting a bit old. Absolutely no one cared about any of this until you started shoving the "T" down people's throats. Fu*k off.

@MLindsay1387 @murf1966 @EdKrassen Can you stop, take a breath & think of this logically. Trump is a criminal, no doubt about it. Biden might as well, his son is. So are Trumps kids. U see the pattern? I’m nonpartisan, u should be too. We need to get money out of politics & u will see the crooks run away as well.
English

@murf1966 @EdKrassen Trump didn’t commit any crimes, they are all political charges!!! If you can’t see this — you are BLIND! It is what separated us from the banana republic’s of the world! We didn’t use federal power to go after political opponents. Previous Presidents have committed FAR WORSE!
English

If Trump is convicted in the Documents case, would Trump supporters vote for someone else?
If not, will they blame the judge and jury for his guilt or will they acknowledge he broke the law but just be OK with it?
I'm genuinely curious. Personally I feel that until Trump is convicted, people should respect his innocence, but if he is convicted, people should respect that ruling as well.
This reminds me a lot of the 2020 election where Republicans were claiming the election was going to be rigged before the election took place. I feel many are doing the same in this case, already claiming the jury will be unjust.
What are your thoughts?

English

@EdKrassen Trump is a draft dodger and no one in the military should support a draft dodger.
English

Your former President Donald Trump has such a touching message of hope, respect, and patriotism on Memorial Day today.
A statement he just released really reads as follows:
"Happy Memorial Day to all, but especially to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the country they love, and to those in line of a very different, but equally dangerous fire, stopping the threats of the terrorists, misfits, and lunatic thugs who are working feverishly from within to overturn and destroy our once great country, which has never been in greater peril than it is right now. We must stop the communists, Marxists, and fascist "pigs" at every turn and make America great again!"
Just so respectful and Patriotic, right?

English

I’m not #prowar but I do honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. I know politicians have sent our sent folks to war under false pretenses. Not a big fan of Biden but at least his son served & fought. Don’t vote for Draft Dodgers! #MemorialDay2023

@mcuban @Giannis_An34 @espn @tnt Thank you Mr. Cuban. This question transcends sports and is an indictment of American society where 2nd-3rd place has been demonized. As a teacher I grade my students on effort. Giannis brings a European perspective where success is judged similarly. #GiannisAntetokounmpo
English

Great response @Giannis_An34 This response should be required viewing for every sports media member and sports journalism teacher and student. Headline seeking questions that look good in a tweet are what sports media has devolved to far too often. It’s also on @espn and @tnt to not accept this as state of the art. Of course not all sportswriters or beat writers fall into this category, And difficult questions that require difficult answers need to be part of the game. But gotcha questions are still far more common than insightful questions. And questions about actual basketball strategy are rare. How far away are we from @sportswriterGPT being a better source of post game questions ? It will be interesting to see where this side of the industry goes
