@DaOtherShip Might be more profitable this weekend. But not long term if the interest is gone. Hocevar is the only reason the sport has any motion rn

@RightSidesOnly_ Used to be able to get Saturday/Sunday tickets for $100 total a few years ago. But probably more profitable to charge 60k fans more than it is to charge 80k fans less

First thing #NASCAR needs to do to get the fans back on board: Lower admission prices. Why are tickets $135 if the stands will only be half full? My local NBA team has tickets for $12 some nights. Fill the stands first, then raise the prices.

@NASCasual Probably right. Feel like nascar should work with them on growing the sport long term. Would benefit both sides.

@miguel_fer94488 Packed? Or just more than the past few years. Packed is sold out crowds. That on TV make the event look like a big deal. They’re not selling out

@RightSidesOnly_ Not sure you’ve been paying attention, but the stands have been packed every week but Bristol. the prices are correct.

@Michael95494331 Michael I’m not demanding anything. I’d just like to see the sport grow. I have friends who aren’t into nascar who wouldn’t go this weekend because of the price. They openly said they’d go for $75. Why are we turning away potential new fans? What races have sold out this year?

@RightSidesOnly_ People ARE attending. The box office doesn’t pick prices. You’re demanding they artificially lower prices

Economic ignorance. Market value sets ticket prices. Stop demanding artificial reductions.

@keithjamesNC I see. But what other sporting event or concert doesn’t sell out? Then the remaining tickets are resell. That determines what people will pay. NASCAR should be working with these tracks to grow the sport. It would benefit everyone.

@RightSidesOnly_ NASCAR can’t control prices at Texas. Speedway Motorsports owns the track, sells tickets, sells concessions, sells campsites, and controls parking. They are a for profit organization and most likely have their reasons. They’re also based on location and what people will spend.

@JeffJoldersma Big dawg Jeff dropping $135 on cheap tickets. NBA playoff tickets were less than that lol. Nascars trajectory is on pace to die.

@RightSidesOnly_ $135 is cheap. Especially considering you can take in a cooler full of food and beer... That said you can buy the cheapest seats and treat it as general admission.

@packerselite4 @RightSidesOnly_ Their profit comes from the TV contract. They could do $10-$25 tickets just to get fans in the stands. Once there, many will spend money on food and drinks. Empty seats create zero revenue. Get people in the seats amnyway you can.

@CptsOrders NASCAR wants to grow just like every other sport. You can say it’s a bad comparison, but any other sporting event or concert lowers ticket prices until they sell out. Then the only available tickets are resell.

@RightSidesOnly_ Really bad comparison. NBA teams play 82 games, half of those at home. Nascar has much fewer races than that and only 1-2 per track

@RightSidesOnly_ Yep! Tickets need to come WAY down! NHRA charges $45 all day on Fridays for the races and pit pass with drivers actually meeting the fans!!! Best ticket motorsports

@BarryBartley3 I wish we would consider the long term implications and missed opportunity of empty seats

@RightSidesOnly_ I've been saying for years that Nascar not just doesn't care, but they actually don't want too many fans at the track. I guess they are making so much money from the media deal, they don't want the headache of dealing with huge crowds.

@RightSidesOnly_ @NASCAR doesn’t care about the FANS at the races only the TV audiences as TV contracts pay the bills and generate ALL their income!

@RightSidesOnly_ I paid $130 for Daytona tickets in the first row, that’s really cheap not sure what the complaint is. Your local NBA team probably sucks and those are nose bleeds
