Unsigned Rylee Baker is a college-ready guard who can make an instant impact as a freshman at the next level. The 6’1” guard finished his senior season at Millbrook High School in Winchester, Virginia, where he established himself as one of the best scorers in the entire region. Baker averaged 19 points per game, along with 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists, while shooting an efficient 55% from the field. His performance earned him First Team All-Region and All-District honors, and he broke the school’s all-time scoring record in the process. With a football background, Baker brings a strong feel for the game, allowing him to get downhill and read defenses with ease. With the ball in his hands, he plays at a consistent pace, using his strength and physicality to get to his spots. He moves well off the ball and excels attacking on the catch, whether pulling up for a sharp mid-range jumper or finishing through contact at the rim with either hand. Baker has smooth, quick jump shot mechanics, allowing him to get his shot off before defenders can properly contest. Defensively, he uses his strength, leverage, and agility to beat offensive players to their spots and make things difficult. He has quick, active hands and shows strong anticipation, often jumping passing lanes and turning defense into offense. In transition, Baker runs the floor hard, frequently beating opponents down the court and finishing through contact after forcing turnovers. After a strong senior season, Baker holds three scholarship offers to play at the next level, and he is expected to generate even more interest this offseason.
