No. To accept means to give up and abandon your principles, your integrity, and the standards that have allowed some of the greatest artistic endeavors to be appreciated from one generation to the next. If you accept it, that's fine. But don't expect me or anyone else who appreciate the writing craft to take anything you say seriously.

@ScottApogee This is really where AI music will step in. If you have any idea of what you want it will get you there! I'm horrible at big picture arranging, but great with melodies. Having it fill in the gaps and translate my ideas to other instruments has been a lot of fun.

We licensed Don't Fear the Reaper to use in Prey for $10k back in 2006. Nowadays that same song would cost $150k. We tried to license songs for recent games in the past 2-4 years and the prices are insane now, so we had to pass. These music license companies seem to think all game studios have Hollywood film sized budgets.

There is, actually. Typically we as human tend to gravitate towards something that is the opposite of our current outlook on. For example, when the US was in a really bad place economically in 1978, there was an uptick in interest in movies that represented hope for the future, heance why the first Superman was a wild success. While on the flip side, a lot of dystopian media like The Walking Dead were popular during the 2010s because we didn't have whole lot going on where we endured true struggle. This concept works mostly the same with fandoms. Dark, broody crowds will often prefer something lighthearted as a counterbalance, while the lighthearted crowd would prefer something dark and broody for mostly similar reasons.
