The perfect cup of coffee requires dedication, consistency, and trusting the process. Up-front effort to dial in to your taste, then each day you just show up and follow the protocol. Seeking a perfect cup will lead to a perfect life. Ahhh ☕️

Joshua Lisec, The Ghostwriter
My gambit in the interim is to write & author that which A.I. isn’t allowed to.
Walter Curt@wcdispatch

@JoshuaLisec Writing in the future will be dominated by those who are creative enough to come up with an idea worth reading. All of the steps between idea and publication will be done in minutes.

@BowTiedBull Crazy how risk tolerance changes with age. One day I'm willing to eat a stranges chicks ass after a night of clubbing, next I'm worried about wearing my shoes in the house.

@JoshuaLisec Leave nothing to chance, make your saline up front, and use a dropper. The perfect cup of coffee should be repeatable.

@Babygravy9 I recall reading about a 50% increased risk of suicide in two years after discontinuation of glp-1s. Had to test it myself. Kinda understand it. The cravings for everything additive floods back hard. Easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless without the drug. It goes away though.

I could do with less fast food joints. They are not essential, they're too expensive to even make the claim the poor people need them. They don't need temporary foreign workers. They need to shut down.

You should placebo yourself into thinking you’re on steroids. Athletes given a placebo they thought was Dianabol added ~8.5 kg to their bench, ~7 kg to their military press, and ~16 kg to their squat in 4 weeks compared to when they didn't think they were getting Dianabol. @EricRWeinstein With respect, I disagree. There can be a cost. Knowledge can be a disease. It's easy to learn something, but infinitely more difficult to forget, if it can even be forgotten at all. This is how mind viruses work. Once infected, the host resists competing infections.

It costs nothing to take new ideas from colleagues seriously. In physics, since 1984, the top priority has been obliterating the reputation of *anyone* with PhD level knowledge who tries to do pre-1984 style physics. Hence: TOGIT or Quantum Gravity as “The Only Game In Town.”
Growling At Gremlins@GrowlnAtGremlns

@EricRWeinstein You mean to say physics is manipulated and misrepresented deliberately to deceive the populace by politicians who score financially? Or just too many incompetent people who lack integrity are in charge of important departments?

Great men of history had little to no introspection. The personality that builds empires is not the same personality that sits around quietly questioning itself. @pmarca and I discuss what we both noticed but no one talks about: David: You don't have any levels of introspection? Marc: Yes, zero. As little as possible. David: Why? Marc: Move forward. Go! I found people who dwell in the past get stuck in the past. It's a real problem and it's a problem at work and it's a problem at home. David: So I've read 400 biographies of history’s greatest entrepreneurs and someone asked me what the most surprising thing I’ve learned from this was [and I answered] they have little or zero introspection. Sam Walton didn't wake up thinking about his internal self. He just woke up and was like: I like building Walmart. I'm going to keep building Walmart. I'm going to make more Walmarts. And he just kept doing it over and over again. Marc: If you go back 400 years ago it never would've occurred to anybody to be introspective. All of the modern conceptions around introspection and therapy, and all the things that kind of result from that are, a kind of a manufacture of the 1910s, 1920s. Great men of history didn't sit around doing this stuff. The individual runs and does all these things and builds things and builds empires and builds companies and builds technology. And then this kind of this kind of guilt based whammy kind of showed up from Europe. A lot of it from Vienna in 1910, 1920s, Freud and all that entire movement. And kind of turned all that inward and basically said, okay, now we need to basically second guess the individual. We need to criticize the individual. The individual needs to self criticize. The individual needs to feel guilt, needs to look backwards, needs to dwell in the past. It never resonated with me.

Had a chance to chat with some young people, they seem adamant that young people are becoming obsessed with beauty. Be it self image, their environment, prose, everything. The kids are going to be alright.

Uncovered my old gaming collection. Diablo II, Starcraft, Starcraft Brood War, Warcraft III. Amongst many others. These were epic times, man. Happy to have experienced it.

@cremieuxrecueil I worry that with widespread access we will see many cases of short-term use and premature cessation before any significant visceral fat loss. The resulting rebound will leave people less healthy than when they started. Diet, exercise, Glp-1s, or any combo, require commitment.

I showed about a year ago that the amount of weight lost as muscle versus fat when people take GLP-1RAs is similar to the amounts people lose when they diet and exercise. Another study came out today that replicated that finding.

@spiderwebsoft This unlocked a childhood trauma! I remember needing the boot disk and it wasn't working. Just when I thought all hope was lost, I flipped write protect switch and the day was saved! Could never understand why it would matter.

Nerd Deep Housecleaning Update: I found one of my MOST IMPORTANT POSSESSIONS. About 20 years ago, I had some sort of software problem. To fix it, I needed some sort of a file. It contains a key OS file or authentication code or game component or something. It was so vitally important than I copied it onto a floppy and labeled it "In Case of Emergency ..." and put it in a drawer. Neglecting, of course, to write exactly what was on it, because it was SO IMPORTANT I assumed I would never forget. I found the disk 10 years later and had absolutely no recollection of what vital file was on it. But I can never, ever, ever get rid of it! Because who knows ...
