It’s not so much pouring dirt on the Thunder, it’s the recognition that even with J-Dub healthy and Chet playing to any type of reasonable standards, it’s hard to envision that outpacing the development of Wemby, Castle and Harper. Wemby is already the best player in the world at 22 years old and he’s still incredibly raw offensively. Castle just one had one the best individual defensive series ever as a sophomore with All-NBA upside. Harper is one of the best rookies in league history and people are already calling for him to replace Fox. They have no ceiling as a trio.

@DamienPetersNBA Every game in this series was won by the team that shot the 3 ball better. OKC was awful from deep in Games 6 & 7, and most of the misses were wide open looks. When your offense creates those shots, you have to make them. That's the series.

It’s not just that the Thunder lost this series. It’s the fact that unless they make some brave decisions with their big 3, no version of Shai, J-Dub and Chet are going or be better than Wemby, Castle and Harper moving forward. This was the one they were supposed to get before the Spurs were ready.
