@theiaincameron To all repliers: in the Netherlands, car drivers are ALWAYS accountable when they hit a cyclist or pedestrian (unless it is an adult, who, without any doubt, tried to commit suicide). And the introduction of this rule saved lives! Motorists became more careful, cyclists not less.

@MrJamesMay @TheMrLoophole I was driving behind someone today and they were on a push bike. I was doing 40mph and couldn’t catch them. The illegality surrounding bikes in London and the pure selfishness and self-entitlement virtually every cyclist has is disgusting.

Thousands of cyclists, e-bike and e-scooter riders are breaking the rules and yet no one is being held accountable. The law simply hasn’t kept pace. If we want safer roads, we need proper regulation, identification and enforcement. Please read my views in this article. #cycling

Very, very few people are capable of breaking the speed limit, even the 20mph one, on a bicycle. Legal electric-assist bicycles in the UK are limited to 15mph. The problem being identified here is with illegal electric motorcycles and e-scooters, which are nothing to do with cycling.
