Fascinating situation here in Skubal's final arb year. Skubal is shooting to be the highest paid player in arbitration ever (beating Juan Soto's 31M). Detroit's offer puts them just below the highest for an arm (19.75 from David Price in 2015).
Hard to see an outcome where Skubal's offer is the one that ends up being the one out of arbitration, unless the panel decides to shatter the record for highest raise given in arbitration set by Jacob deGrom (7.4) and make it a raise of 22 (10 -> 32).
It is worth noting that deGrom went from 9.6m to 17m coming off a CY Young Season.

Two-time AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal filed for a $32 million salary this year while the Detroit Tigers countered at $19 million, sources tell ESPN. The $13 million spread is by far the largest in salary-arbitration history and sets up for a fascinating hearing in February.

Hunter Parks is another name to watch out of the AFL, the Reds righty has a high velo 4-Seam to pair with a cutter and a nasty sweeper.

Tucker Musgrove pitched in the AFL today and showed off some insane pitches. The Padres prospect showed off 5 pitches, a 4-Seam, Sinker, Gyro Slider, Curve, and Sweeper. The Sweeper came out at 87.8 MPH with 7ft of extension, 2930 rpms and -17.2" of HB. His arsenal grades out highly on my Stuff+ Model.
