🎯 Strengthening Sustainability Actions: Through the @Nabadaynta program, @activeindevaid today convened a Listening, Discussion, and Action Group (LDAG) learning and sustainability event to facilitate dialogue, learnings, and strengthen community in addressing local issues.

Through @Nabadaynta, On 29th November, ADA has initiated the first community policing monthly actions/patrols reflection meeting including documenting challenges, learnings and plan on next steps. #jointefforts #gofargobeyond

Situation Update: Since the start of the year, Food Security and Nutrition Assessment Unit (FSNAU) IPC Phase classification reports show a steady rise in the number of people facing Phase 4 food insecurity — the emergency level — across the South West State: •Jan–Mar: 72,150 •Apr–Jun: 139,970 •Jul–Sep: 150,540 •Oct–Dec: 227,340 The chart clearly shows this worsening trend. Nutrition crisis deepens in South West State: FSNAU projects more than 134,000 children under 5 will suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) between Aug 2025–July 2026 which is 32% of Somalia’s total caseload. Rising food insecurity and malnutrition in South West State signal a looming humanitarian crisis. Without urgent action, Emergency-level cases will continue to climb through late 2025 and into early 2026 and potentially could escalate into Phase 5 (catastrophe) by early 2026. The training targeted 14 facilitators (both male & female) from the community to facilitate #LDAG group discussions over a period of 12 weeks.

Thrilled to have successfully completed the training of facilitators for the @Nabadaynta Soomaaliya Listening, Discussion, and Action Groups (LDAGs) for season 2 in #Doolow.

In Ceel-waq, our nutrition team is actively working in delivering critical health & nutrition services to children through active screening, targeted treatment and nutritional support under multi-year nutrition project in partnership with @unicefsomalia.

Through ongoing emergency response jointly with @unicefsomalia, WASH cluster, and State MoH, we have recently distributed hygiene kits to 1000 targeted households in Ceel Waq district of Gedo Region.
