2019–2026: Recurrent droughts and floods in Somalia have driven displacement, eroded livelihoods, and worsened food insecurity-shaping IPC trends nationwide. Climate shocks continue to fuel vulnerability. We must break this cycle by building community resilience.

“Water is a basic human right but not everyone has the privilege of having it.” In Afgoye, access to water was limited but a new WASH project implemented by New Ways is improving access to a clean and reliable drinking water. Thank to @shf_somalia for the generous support.

Southern and Eastern Africa remains a humanitarian hotspot, further exacerbated by the Middle East crisis. Over 17 million people could face acute hunger if the escalation continues. Flexible funding is essential to support people already on the edge.
