@sayid_islam Agreed - Playing it safe isn't safe anymore. Asli looks like this, Amaya also is a grand 2-floor fine dine. The former at least, employed fashion models to make and carpet bomb promo media. Take one glance at Asli's Google reviews - totally seems to have lost the plot somewhere.

@ash_chowder Don't know about these 2 places. But there is a lack of focus/passion on product in general. Too much cookie cutter stuff all around.
Plus the broader market's tastes are much less wider and way more sharper than people give it credit for.

Hyderabad's market can be utterly unforgiving. Was driving around and noticed both Asli near Rd 45 and Amaya on Rd 10 Jubilee Hills have closed after very short runs and huge spends on setup. All those shiny lifestyle shoots and influencer engagements... for what?

@gauravsabnis It's actually possible to transplant banyan trees - under expert supervision, that is. The one I clicked below was transplanted a good distance away over a tedious operation by @vata_foundation, and continues to thrive to this day.

Yeah, transplantation is in general a risky thing even for the average tree. Even with a contained compact root system.
But to shamelessly say a banyan tree can be transplanted is staggering level of ignorance or dishonesty.

Today a court in Madurai sentenced all 9 police officers to death. Their crime was murder. Their victims were Jayaraj and Bennix. A father and son who kept their mobile shop open 45 minutes past curfew in June 2020. They were beaten for 7 hours through the night. Forced to wipe their own blood off the floor with their clothes. Jayaraj had 17 injuries. Bennix had 13. Both died within 3 days. The judge called it rarest of rare. Today India told every police officer in this country. Nobody is above the law. Begumpet, until the mid-2000s, was one of the most happening areas. Begumpet Airport, Lifestyle building with Music World, My Home Tycoon, Country Club, Ramada Manohar, Bottles & Chimneys (often featured in Deccan Chronicle Page 3), 10 Downing Street, Coffee day, Green Park Hotel (Club Escape), and ITC Kakatiya(Dublin), everything was centered here.
I also remember software companies like Intergraph, Sonata Software, Satyam Computers, and Virtusa (in My Home Tycoon) operating from this area.
One of my favorite restaurants was Malgudi in My Home Tycoon, with great ambience and very good South Indian food, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala dishes.

Begumpet gets it's name from Basheer Ul-Unnisaa Begum, the daughter of the 6th Nizam who got this land as part of her wedding dowry. Much before Cyberabad took shape, this was Hyderabad's IT Hub. Most of the early IT firms set up shop here. During the 80s, 90s and early 2000s this was the Madhapur- Gachibowli of those times. It had cafes, restaurants, ice cream joints, clubs. Country Club was a happening place for all kinda functions. Before the Mall explosion, you had Lifestyle and Shoppers Stop. And this was where you boarded your flights before Shamshabad happened. Even now it still remains a commercial hub. Not to mention all the iconic landmarks here Hyderabad Public School, Paigah Palace, Spanish Mosque.

There is an old world, gentlemanly charm to restaurants such as Taj Mahal Hotel or Kamat, especially in Hyderabad which the new age hype like Ishtaa or Rameshwaram can never replicate.
They greet you properly, serve chilled water without a bottle upsell and guilt tripping you for asking for regular water. Waiters are warm and super fast with service.
The best part? A Thali that still tastes incredible is just ₹140.
