Twisha was a truly lovely young woman. She was 'Miss Pune, a marketing manager, and a model. Twisha had married Samarth Sharma a year earlier. Samarth is a criminal lawyer, and his mother is Giribala Singh (a retired judge). Like every girl, Twisha, too, had harbored sweet dreams about her married life. But Twisha's dreams were shattered. For the first few days, everything went smoothly, but then her in-laws made her quit her job. Two months ago, Twisha suffered a miscarriage. And then, one day, Twisha called her mother and told her that she could no longer bear it Twisha's inlaws called her family to inform them that she had committed suicide. However, Twisha's family members were unwilling to accept this claim. Twisha's family demanded a post-mortem examination, which revealed multiple injuries. A case of murder and dowry harassment has been registered against Twisha's in-laws.

Growing up in 90s Bengaluru, I used accompany my mum to pick up her freshly ground filter coffee powder every week from one of the various stores lining Mahakavi Kuvempu road. She would choose the mix of coffee and chicory she wanted. I wasn’t allowed to drink coffee as a child but I went with her because of that lovely aroma. People stopped at our house just to drink Amma’s coffee. Coffee is an anchor point of my childhood because of just how much it was mentioned around our house.
So sorry to disappoint but coffee too, like SO many other Bengaluru things and Bengaluru itself, have existed long before IT was a thing.
