Speaking as a therapist, there is no such thing as “Covid anxiety.” The mental health field is built on ableism and most therapists don’t understand that viruses can disable or kill someone. You’re not “crazy” for not wanting to get sick. It’s called self preservation.

I would counsel @angijones to be careful about her commentary, as otherwise she may find a defamation action heading her way. To summarise the legal matter in the UK: Key Findings and Judge/Legal Team Comments on Dr Upton ▶️Dismissal of All Claims Against Dr Upton: The employment tribunal dismissed all allegations of discrimination and victimisation made by nurse Sandie Peggie against Dr Upton. 📷Wikipedia +1 ▶️Credibility of Evidence: The tribunal found Dr Upton’s evidence to be "more reliable and materially more cohesive in nature". 📷The Guardian +1 ▶️Description of the Incident: While a witness noted Dr Upton was "very shaken," "visibly distressed," and "startled" following a confrontation with the nurse on Christmas Eve 2023, the tribunal later deemed that Dr Upton's description of a subsequent incident regarding patient care "would seem unlikely". 📷Wikipedia ▶️Characterisation by Legal Counsel: In closing submissions, barrister Jane Russell KC (representing both NHS Fife and Dr Upton) praised Dr Upton, citing witnesses who described the medic as an "extremely kind, compassionate person". 📷BBC ▶️Impact of Misgendering: The tribunal noted that Dr Upton was "deeply hurt by being misgendered" during the proceedings.📷BBC ▶️Rejection of Harassment Allegations: The tribunal did not find that Dr Upton’s use of the female changing room constituted harassment of the nurse, although it did find that the nurse's comments towards Dr Upton "amounted to an incident of harassment". 📷BBC I know the TERF movement doesn't like reality to get in the way of the narrative, but I think Australians deserve to know the truth. Angie, I realise this is very inconvenient for you. #Auspol2026

A man got a visa to live and work as a FEMALE doctor in Australia, after being at the centre of a workplace harrassment case in which he tried to force female nurses to undress in front of him, yet @ThePosieParker can’t get a visa just to visit.

@Frenual_Fake @PeregrineT49351 @miffythegamer I can assure you that a large number of people do not understand that tw are men or tm are women. For some years I was obligated to ask people their preferences regarding gender. They almost universally hated that. "What do you mean am I a man?" Your people aren't the norm.

@bargaincryptid @ok6ixx I can’t reply directly to the person who asked the question (Why ask me a question and then block me?) but yes, I do. My point was a sex drive and asexuality are different things.

My sister told me what happened in her biology class yesterday and it's genuinely heartwarming. Her teacher is this super tall, awkward guy who's probably in his late 40s. During a random conversation about relationships, he casually mentioned he's never been married and never really felt attracted to anyone, like ever. A girl in the class raised her hand and asked if he'd ever heard of asexuality. He looked completely confused. So three students in the class all queer started explaining what asexuality was, how it's a real orientation, and how there's a whole community of people who experience little to no sexual attraction. My sister said his face lit up. Like, this grown man looked like he was about to cry. He got genuinely excited and kept asking questions. It Turns out he'd spent his entire life thinking something was wrong with him for not feeling attraction the way everyone else seemed to. A classroom full of chaotic teenagers just gave their middle-aged teacher the most validating moment of his life. He thanked them like five times before continuing the lesson.

Can someone explain like I’m 5 why you shouldn’t pay off your home early if the rate is low? I have no idea why continuing to owe on something you can own outright is the “right strategy” - it’s interest you don’t have to pay in the long run… no matter how low the rate? Right?

My coworker has a 1.99% mortgage. That is something you should NEVER pay off early. Inflation is at least 3%/yr. Why would anyone pay that off aggressively? It makes absolutely 0 sense.
